Questionable managing by La Russa tonight. The lineup was shit, bad luck with Holliday. I'm not sure what happened to him, but hopefully he's back soon (preferably Friday ;)), but not starting Berkman is retarded. I don't care about his bad splits against Randy Wolf. It's Randy fucking Wolf, not Greinke. Berkman>>>>>>>>>>the collective group of bums composing the Cardinals outfield tonight.
As a whole, the cardinals were way to aggressive tonight, swinging at Randy wolf's junk and making quick outs. He only had one strikeout lol. If they would have been more patient, they probably would have gotten a few meat balls.
I'm excited to say I'll be heading down to St. Louis for the Brewers @ Cardinals game on Labor Day. I've never been to Busch, so I'm pretty excited. Anything I should check out while I'm in the city? Any other tips? I did the whole arch thing a few years back, but that's it.
Where are you staying? And are you coming with friends/family/girlfriend? I can recommend a few places depending on the prior questions.
I'm going with a friend of mine, we're staying at his uncle's house. A lot of drinking will be expected. I'm sure he knows town pretty well, but any suggestions are appreciated.
Assuming that you're over 21, be sure to check out the "Cardinals" bars just South of Busch -- Paddy O's and Hrobosky's. Always a great crowd after the game. As far as other downtown attractions, there is a new casino (Lumiere) that's great for late night boozing and gambling. If you're in to other bars/clubs, there are a lot of great stops on Washington street, then there is the downtown landing. Calico's is a great place to grab a bite to eat before the game.
If you have time to kill during the days, the City Museum is one of the coolest places in St. Louis. Grant farm and the zoo are free, though it may be a little homo to go with just your friend. Several art and history museums as well if you're in to that sort of thing.
