Edit: Had something to add. I started watching basketball in the 90's. I'm only 22. So the Legends of the game? I'm sorry I didn't get to see them. So guys growing up watching Bird and then seeing Pippen I can't make a valid argument against having only seen Scottie Pippen play in my life time vs. catching Bird in his final seasons.

Bird won 3 NBA MVPs in a row. I think Pippen won "Team MVP" one year with the Bulls. I don't see how this can even be an issue. It would be like saying "I'm a big Tony Romo fan, and I can't say that Roger Staubach was better than Romo because I never saw him play."

Right, because the thread is titled "Top 25 All Time Best All Around Great Athletes in Basketball", and in the grand scheme of things, 3 straight MVPs pale in comparison to 'your criteria'.
