I don't know. The salaries have to match up in order for the trade to go through, so at this point I'm assuming that they would have around the same cap after the trade is done, and the Magic were looking to exceed the cap and take on the luxury tax to resign Hedo.

That's a great lineup for 2K, but I'm not sure eveyone would be happy. However, other than Rafer I never really heard of any issues with getting the ball from the rest, although at times Turk and Howard seem to get a little fustrated, so it may work. VC is use to taking a lot of shots, but I'm sure he'd be happy with 10 fga per game if it means he gets a chance to win a championship. This move is a reaction to what the Cavs are going, the Celts getting KG back and matching up with the Lakers. If they make this move and Howard gets a real post game look out.

IMO for what they like to do even with VC they need to bring Hedo back, as down the stretch he generally is the primary ballhandler, takes and makes big shots, and causes matchup problems all over the floor, which opens up lanes for Howard and open shots for everyone else.

You aren't looking for a superstar in Lee, you are looking for the role player.

Nets objective is to get LeBron in 2010, it is what they've been working to for ages now. It started with the move of J-Kidd, now they move Carter...the idea is to get pieces. You put LeBron at the 3 with a shooter like Lee at the 2, one of the best PG in the league in Harris and a legitimate NBA big in Lopez and that is a good roster. The might also get a solid pick @ #11 tonight.

Both Battie and Alston come off the books in 2010 for a little over 11M.

True, but gettting a legit PF who plays defense and rebounds is tough. They could go after Rasheed Wallace, but he IMO doesn't bring the skillset that they need. However, with VC they could try a sign and trade involving Hedo for some legit PF, but I'm not sure Hedo would command that sort of caliber of player.
