He's right. To be perfectly honest, with the East shaping up the way it is, if I wasn't a GM of one of these championship contenders, I'd try to get by with the bare minimum, hope for a postseason appearance and move on. This year is going to be a fucking throwdown from the 2nd round on with some of these teams stacking up the way they are. Teams like the Heat, Bulls, etc. shouldn't do anything drastic this year. Build for the long term until the big dogs go away.

The Nets are not going to be in Brooklyn next year. They plan to be in Brooklyn come 2011-2012.

As of March 2009, the Nets are committed to moving to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn for the 2011–12 NBA season, overcoming economic concerns and legal opposition, Brett Yormark, the team's chief executive, told Bloomberg Television.
Jay-Z is not bringing him to the Nets because they're "boys". Spike Lee and Kobe are boys now too, does that mean Kobe is going to the Knicks now? No. LeBron isn't coming to the Nets because he wants to play for championships, not for his "boy". You know who his "boy" is right now? Shaquille O'Neal. That's his "boy". LeBron is not leaving an organization that actually wants to win championships to go to a team that just wants him there so Jay-Z can get a hard on.

And who says the Nets don't have a shot? One move in the right direction can make them a contender. One player having a breakout season can make them great. One injury on another squad can suddenly give them a chance. You never give up on an NBA season when you're 0-0. That's just dumb.

I wish Drazen Petrovic were still alive.

Please let this trade go down. As a Vince Carter fan I'd love to see him actually having a chance to win a championship.

It has a clue what its doing...heck, it even has a goal...to get LeBron. You may not think they'll get him...but at least they are showing they want to get him and have all the power to get him...they just need that Jay Z connection and the move to Brooklyn to come together as enough of a selling point.
I wanted J-Kidd traded after K-Mart left because it became obvious that he wasn't making the same magic without him and his shooting became a glaring weakness. I really wanted Devin Harris on the team as well. Plus, the difference with that trade is that it happened when our season was pretty much over, not when we're 0-0.

IMO the Nets have slim chances of getting LeBron James, because the Cavs are knocking on the door of a championship and the fact that LeBron is there really works in their favor. The Nets on the other hand will have a group of young guys that LeBron will have to mesh with, which takes time. In Cleveland there isn't any pressure, but if he goes to NY (whether its the Nets or not) the pressure is going to be there, because that would be why he made the move. Do you turn down a situation where you're knocking on the door or do you go to one where you're really not sure what could happen? If I were the Nets I'd keep doing what I've doing, but lower my sights to a guy like Bosh. I would say Wade, but he has it too good in Miami and they too have a good young core around him already.

Dude, the Nets weren't going anywhere anymore with Kidd, Jefferson, or Carter. It is time to break'em all up, get what you can for them and start again.

LOL, the Magic got Ryan Anderson too?

                      HAHAHAHAH

If I was the Magic, I'd have tried to have gotten Sean Williams.

I think if Pietrus can refine his shot selection the new lineup should work nicely. They need to sign some cheap talent though, because especially now the bench is looking really weak.
