Khan is a fucking moron. This guy was on NBA TV last nite and just hearing him get interviewed for 15 mins was enough to show me why he was dumb enough to do all this. He even said he thinks Rubio should start over Flynn right now.

I dont really think Minnesota's GM is angry at all with this situation. The interview/phone call they had on ESPN it almost sounded like he was all for Rubio playing 2 more years in Spain then coming to Minnesota. So imo this is just blown out of proportion.

Once it came out that Rubio would have to essentially play for free, or even pay to play, sending each paycheck to his old team for the next 2 years, many people began speculating that he might not automatically come over.

It was already expected he wouldn't play for Memphis, so him not wanting to play for another of the NBAs most moribund and hopeless franchises does not surprise me in the least.

yeah if it happened. and Rubio ended up staying in Spain. Timberwolves would be really annoyed and it would be unfair to them. I mean yeah, you would have preferences to who you would like to play for. But surely playing in the NBA is good enough, atleast give Timberwolves a go.

In all fairness the TWolves knew this had a chance of happening . Probably the reason why they drafted so many Point Guards too , everybody knew Rubio`s position coming into the draft .

He would be paying to play in the NBA at first almost . Its going to take him more to buy out his contract than hes earning in wages (if im not mistaken) . Barring endorsments hes going to be effectivly paying to play

True, which makes this more high profile certainly, but why should Rubio be penalized for being better, or being in a weaker draft class making him higher coveted? Should he be robbed of the same luxury to stay at home simply because the Wolves picked him that high?

Seriously though, you are 18, you've never lived in this country, and you will have to send every paycheck you receive back to your old team. Wouldn't you opt to stay home, with your friends, family and bitches, over freezing your ass off by yourself in Minnesota and play for half empty arenas?

It sounded like a good idea for him at the time, then he realized he had to move to Minnesota, and changed his mind. Sounds like something any 18 year old kid with options would do.
