    fuck lebron.
"From the time he hits the court, he plays at a competitive level that you rarely see," Popovich says. "He does the exact same things that Kobe (Bryant) does, that Michael Jordan did.

No, numbers should not be retired for by an entire league, only by teams.

although I dont see a reason to do this, I wish it would be done

Riley Retired #23 in Miami, theres a half Bulls half wizards jersey hung up in the rafters.

probably wont even happen because Robinson 42 was retried for what he did beyond sports and Gretz broke almost all (if not all) NHL records, I believe.

Maybe the majority of players wearing the number will change their number next year, if not this year. Not sure if Lebron would do it but I heard he be willing to wear 6 in the future (maybe when he signs with the Knicks).

already been done...a long time ago (after his 1st retirement).

edit: although they did reinstate it for him to wear.

I think thats dumb. It makes sense for the bulls to retire #23 but to retire it for the whole lg? Who gives a shit if somebody in Cleavland or New York wants to wear 23, let um.

I can see baseball retiring jackies number because he actually changed baseball, jordan just broke records, he didnt change basketball

                        Im 50/50 on this..

Yes they should retire the Greates Player of All Time's number... He's a legend, and deserves it.

No they shouldnt, Babe Ruth has done just as much as Jordan for his sport. And his number isnt retired.

Eventually it will be retired. Watch.

if #23 gets retired, #33 and #6 shouldnt be far behind

I don't think they should retire it for every team. If a player feels they're worthy, let them wear it and if they life up to it, then they will receive praise, and if they don't live up to it, they'll be ridiculed by ESPN and every fan.
