All I'm going to say is that Pop and the Spurs let go of Steve Jackson because they knew what kind of player he was. You can win games with the dude, but not championships IMO.

I highly doubt the trade goes down also, all the reasons have already been stated.

He won't fuck with LeBron. Why would he complain? Not enough wins? Enough talent?

He said over the summer he wanted to be traded to texas or a playoff team, here's that team with the best player in the game right now.

I do agree that Jackson probably helps them more this year than Big Z, but i scoff at guys who say hes worthless. Him and Yao are the only two centers in the league banging 18 footers over multiple seasons with consistency.

The Cavs don't need a player that turns the ball over a lot, takes a ton of bad shots, and always needs the ball. And let's not forget his contract....
Though I could see Z getting bought out and re-joining the Cavs.

Stephen Jackson for Zydrunas Ilgauskas? Forget about it. Jackson wants to play for Cleveland. He has been wanting out of Golden State. But the Cavs need Ilgauskas for depth inside. There is 37-year-old Shaquille O'Neal. There is Anderson Varejao. And there are promising kids in J.J. Hickson and Darnell Jackson. But that's not good enough, especially with the Cavs wanting to play O'Neal 25 to 30 minutes to keep him ready for the playoffs.

Yeah this doesn't make much sense. You need more than a bunch of all-stars(who jack up a shit ton of shots) to win a title nowadays. You need chemistry and depth, all which they would sacrifice if they were to bring in Jackson.

A no-brainer? Are you serious bro? There's been some pretty good back and forth discussion about whether this trade is a good idea or not for the Cavs/Warriors. Obviously, some thought has to be put in.

Anyway, this trade looks damn good on paper. Jackson averaged what, 20PPG last year? Still, I don't think it would work out too well.

Firstly, as many of you said before, Ilguaskas has some serious history with the Cavs and management has some loyal ties with him. It would be unfair to break those bonds and chuck him out the door like yesterday's news.

Secondly, Stephen Jackson really wouldn't help out the Cavs that much. Sure, the guy can spot up and shoot; but he hasn't been doing that the past 2 seasons. The guy is very close to being a ballhog, that consistenly looks for his own shot. Also, the Cavs already have West, Parker, and Green at the 2. Stephen Jackson would make that 4 guys at one position, you simply can't do that, look at the 05-06 Knicks (point guards). The only option would be for the Cavs to deal one of their shooting guards... but then again, that really isn't an option: West, despite his emotional issues, has some serious chemistry with a lot of the guys on the team (LeBron, Mo, etc). The team mentality would take a hit if he was dealt. Parker brings a veteran presence and is an unselfish shooter who can heat up if he's left unguarded. Danny Green is a rookie, the Cavs need to keep him as he will make up part of their young talent base for the future.

There are only 2 ways I see this deal going down: The first is if Ferry just decides to bet it all and makes a big risk-reward move. The second is if the Cavs really sell themselves on the idea that LeBron isn't coming back in 2010-2011. Then maybe (and this is a stretch) they could use Stephen Jackson as their sub-par replacement go-to-guy/franchise player.

I am a Cavs fan btw and I say it's in their best interest to not make this move.
