How about Georgia beating the shit outta Tennessee yesterday? I know the Vowels are shorthanded and all, but Mark Fox is doing wonders in Athens. Always helps to have a player like Trey Thompkins in place.

they cant make excuses, they beat Kansas shorthanded. They lost to an UGA team with two good players. Leslie and TT are the only guys im scared of on UGA's roster.
I personally think its Mark Pope's 7' presence on the bench, yeah hes the reason for all the good fortune in Athens ;)
True true. I'll fuckin take it. Leslie has turned into a man this year, just needs to take better care of the ball, and McPhee is a pretty nice shooter to have. That's about all we got though.
Yeah, there was an article in the AJC today about Mark Pope and how he's an "Operational Assistant", meaning he can't actually coach, lol.

From what ive read he called Mark Fox everyday for about 2 months straight asking for a job. After the NBA he was in Med School at Columbia and just decided he wanted to get into coaching instead. Pope has a high basketball IQ so i think he'll be a good guy to have on the staff. A national championship ring and NBA experience has to help him with recruiting kids as well.
Yep, he bothered Coach Fox incessantly. The main thing for UGA's recruiting will just be winning games. We have plenty of in-state talent to choose from that will come to Athens if they know the program can consistently make the NCAA tournament.
I'm going to UGA next year and want to get in to basketball coaching, and it just so happens I have some nice connections in the athletic dep't there. Even if that means starting as a student manager and making contacts with the powers that be, I'm willing to do it. Should be interesting.
It's about time Bobby Gonzalez got that program winning some games. They have a legit shot at the tourney if they continue to get production out of guys not named Hazell.
Penn State falls once again, blowing a 16-point lead.
With some of the talent returning from a NIT championship team last season, I didn't necessarily expect a tournament berth, but at least a few conference wins at this point.

The Atlanta area produces a good crop of talent every year. If Fox could just get two of the top 5 every year, they would compete for SEC titles IMO.
