At what point do you sacrifice the future for the present? I saw the Celtics do it for KG, I saw the suns do it for Shaq, I saw the Mavs do it for Jason Kidd. They all gave up good young players for a single player that they thought could put them over the top.
Stoudemire on trade block

I really question your basketball knowledge sometimes. Amare WAS a huge liability, when he was playing Center. Amare was always out on the perimeter rather than bumping uglies in the paint. That's why he was a liability. He has been a solid defender since his slide to the 4 and is only continuing to beast.
Amare is as good of a defender as Bruce Bowen is an offensive weapon. Amare is lazy on defense and is always getting beat. He's not even a good help defender. Averaging a decent amount of blocks does not make you a good defender, Amare couldn't shut down Kurt Thomas if he tried.Comment

If the Suns offered Amare for Smith, the Hawks would do it in a heart beat. A dominating big man is worth much.... MUCH more than a defensive small forward with the ability to slash and score.Comment

A 6 year deal is worth more than a year and a half rental.Comment

Not if it means grabbing a big man that can push you over the edge. The Hawks wouldn't do anything this season except maybe escape the first round, but next season they'd be set to be a top team in the East.Comment

Ill add one more thing to it. Josh Smith is a great athlete and he has loads of potential but when playoff time rolls around, you would rather have Stoudemire no doubt. Amare could put them up as an elite team in the east, they would be down right scary in the playoffs. Also, even if this year doesn't work out you have amare for a full year NEXT year. Then when that comes up(who knows maybe the Hawks win a ring) Amare can make a decision to bolt to another team and you have free'd up even more cap space for another key player. You see what I am saying? If you have any more realistic trade offers, please share.Last edited by corbin; 02-05-2009, 08:29 PM.Comment

Plus Steve Kerr.... Hmmmm Dont you think he would want to help out the Bulls? I'm sure he'd love too.Comment

I was thinking.. the Bulls have the best package to give them. I'd love Tyrus to stay cause hes improving game by game and is a freakish athlete.
I just wish Paxson would pull the trigger, unlike with Gasol, and Garnett.Comment

Steve Kerr bent MJ over and stuck it in with no lube with that suns/bobcats deal. You honestly think he gives a shit about helping former teammates/teams?Comment
-
Your an idiot if you dont think so.
What are you talking about? That was a good deal for both teams. If anything it sucked for the Suns. They are going to rebuild.Last edited by zack54attack; 02-06-2009, 05:01 PM.Comment

The Suns picked up J-Rich in a rebuilding effort? They picked up a 3 yr contract valued at over 40 million dollars to rebuild? You have got to be shitting me. They picked him up for another offensive weapon to gun for a championship. Maybe they are starting to realize now it isn't going to happen but to say they picked up J-Rich to rebuild is absurd.
Btw, if you're going to call someone an idiot, don't forget your apostrophe brah.Comment
