    West Round 1 - #1 Syracuse (W2BTD) vs. #16 Vermont (Archer)

    59(2OT)

    54(2OT)
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was over when...Syracuse finally pulled away in OT #2.

Key Stat- SG Andy Rautins hit seven 3's, including one to send the game into OT, and a second to send the game into the second OT.

W2BTD says...What a great game. This was the most realistic game we have played yet, with Vermont patiently picking the 2-3 zone apart with backcuts and inside drives. Syracuse also played well, with Andy Rautins (25 points) shooting the lights out, and Rick Jackson and big Onuanku doing tons of damage inside. It wasnt until Syracuse finally gave up the zone in OT, and switched to man-to-man, that they got some stops.

Vermont had a chance to win the game after both Rautins 3-balls. Both times, they missed jumpers at the buzzer following timeouts and setting up a play. Very intense.

    Stars of the Game
Syracuse: Rick Jackson - 15 points, 9 reb (ok, EA, how the fuck can it not be Rautins?? 25 points, and two big 3-pointers to extend the game into extra periods. Unreal.)
Vermont: Evan Fjeld - 13 pts, 10 reb

      West Round 1 - #8 Gonzaga (Archer) vs. #9 Florida St (W2BTD)

      37

      32
      -------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was over when...Freshman SG Michael Snaer hit two FT's with :10 left, giving FSU a 5-point lead.

Key stat - Gonzaga's Matt Bouldin had 9 first half points, but only scored 2 points in the second half, which saw him double teamed and unable to get good looks.

W2BTD says...Another fun, well played, realistic game. Gonzaga got out early behind red hot Bouldin, but FSU charged back in the second half by going inside to big C Solomon Alabi.

      Stars of the Game
Florida St: Solomon Alabi - 10 points, 10 reb
Gonzaga: Robert Sacre - 9 points, 7 reb

          West Round 1 - #5 Butler (W2BTD) vs. #12 UTEP (Archer)

          61

          30
          ------------------------------------------------------------------------

          It was over when...Tipoff.

          Key stat - Butler: 14 turnovers, 34% FG, 18% 3-pt, 100% awful.

W2BTD says...shoot me. Disgusting. It was 31-14 at the half, and Butler managed to cut it to 12 at one point after three straight scores (two by PF Matt Howard, his only baskets for the future NBA player), but it was all downhill-fast-from there.

UTEP attacked the basket with vengence (57%), to the point it looked like a dunk contest. They also lit it up from 3 range (43%). I had no answer for anything Archer was doing. I was helpless. Consider this: Archer fell asleep for four consecutive possessions, and I scored zero points during that period.

Let me repeat myself, in case you missed that last part...

ARCHER WAS ASLEEP FOR PART OF THIS GAME, AND WON BY 31.

          Stars of the Game
          UTEP: Everyone. Every. Single. Player.
          Butler: No.

lol I drifted off in the middle of that UTEP game and woke up with my controller vibrating after failing to inbound the ball. I'm guessing that happened more than once before it woke me up

It was over when...Vandy took its first lead, which it would never reliquish. It felt like Murray St was down 3-6 points the entire game...which they were. This was a 6 point blowout.

Key stat - Murray St was only able to connect on 1 three pointer.

                  W2BTD says......nothing. Boring game.

Vandy - Jermain Beal: 15 points
