West Round 1 - #1 Syracuse (W2BTD) vs. #16 Vermont (Archer)
59(2OT)
54(2OT)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was over when...Syracuse finally pulled away in OT #2.
Key Stat- SG Andy Rautins hit seven 3's, including one to send the game into OT, and a second to send the game into the second OT.
W2BTD says...What a great game. This was the most realistic game we have played yet, with Vermont patiently picking the 2-3 zone apart with backcuts and inside drives. Syracuse also played well, with Andy Rautins (25 points) shooting the lights out, and Rick Jackson and big Onuanku doing tons of damage inside. It wasnt until Syracuse finally gave up the zone in OT, and switched to man-to-man, that they got some stops.
Vermont had a chance to win the game after both Rautins 3-balls. Both times, they missed jumpers at the buzzer following timeouts and setting up a play. Very intense.
Stars of the Game
Syracuse: Rick Jackson - 15 points, 9 reb (ok, EA, how the fuck can it not be Rautins?? 25 points, and two big 3-pointers to extend the game into extra periods. Unreal.)
Vermont: Evan Fjeld - 13 pts, 10 reb
