Went to my first OSU game as a student today. IMO, this team, despite losing Evan Turner, is going to be better than last year's squad.

The freshman are ridiculous, Jared Sullinger had an outstanding game and grabs every rebound in sight (Reminds me a lot of Blake Griffin), finishing with 19 pts and 14 boards. For a man his size though, he is a terrific FT shooter, btw. DeShaun Thomas is a great scorer, finishing with 24 points as well as 8 boards, but needs to work on his defense though. We may have found our PG in freshman Aaron Craft, he had 8 points and 9 assists and ran the offense very well, a great flow when he was in the game.

Our veterans were steady, we got what we always do from Diebler, Buford, and Lighty, and Lauderdale had a fantastic game with 12 pts, 13 boards, and 8 blocks. Almost a triple double... 8 blocks. Played like a man possessed.

Biggest thing this year is we have so much depth. Last year we pretty much had a starting 5 with a weak 6th man, this year, we could legitimately start our entire second team and have a pretty good lineup. Big things are going to come from this group.

UGA almost lost the opener, but were playing without the Preseason SEC Player of the Year.

            Robert Morris 55, St. Peter's 30

Ugly game with lots of turnovers, fouls, missed shots, but the RMU defense prevailed to give us a 1-0 start.

Balanced scoring paced the Colonials with Karon Abraham's 14 points leading the charge. Russell Johnson added 12 points (all in the second half) and freshman Yann Charles scored 10. Velton Jones also had 9 points.

Next up, an away game at Kent State next Tuesday, scheduled for an 8 a.m. tip-off because of the ESPN 24 Hours of Basketball thing. Tune into ESPN2 to watch if you're up.

I'm really liking Terrell Stoglin running the point for Maryland.

JJ Moore is going to be a big part of this pitt team I think... Great play (against my school) but I was very impressed with the whole teams depth. There isn't a huge drop off in the 1st or 2nd team for Pitt.

Kansas/Valpo tonight at 7. I'll be watching that.

K-State/Va Tech tomorrow at 3 (WTF). Should be a big test for K-State. Curtis Kelly is apparently not playing again.

Duke's backcourt is seriously one of the best I've seen in YEARS...amazing depth and quality.

                              Irving, Smith, Curry, Dawkins, Thornton...wow.
