      1. Melo didnt quit on his team, hahahaha dude played hard, hes just overrated IMO. Billups had more to do to the Nuggest post season success the Melo.

Also Dave saying all these crazy things about melo like hes on LBJs level hahaha.

NY better get CP3 now cause they need to make sure they run and gun their opponents to death cause any other wont work. If they ever fire Dantoni then this team is going to crumble like PHO.

Williams has run uptempo offenses before and done very well in them---see his college career.

Honestly Williams might be the better run and gun option than Paul.

i dont agree. ur 2 best players currently arent known for defense. this team was built for one way to play IMO and its perfect for dantoni. This makes the NYK very interesting team to wacth cause no team really plays like that now after he left PHO. Now competing against Bos and Mia its a nice change of pace. If they try to make this team into the 90s knicks all hard nosed then they need 2 new superstars.

Im just glad this shit is over, I never liked Carmelo and like him even less through this entire situation. holding your team hostage, thats a great.

Id be pissed too if I were denver, he toasts with Chris Paul and Stoudamire at his wedding about the three of them being in NY next season with the Nuggets owner there.

Still with Williams (who I love and think he is hard player and prays he doesnt go there) or Paul They still dont beat Chicago, Miami or the Magic in two or three years. I leave the Celtics out because I dont who will be there in two years.

You're not winning championships playing that style. I'm not asking for 90s-defense(that's not possible in today's NBA), but you still have to get those crucial stops at crunch time.

I'm not asking for the Riley/Van Gundy "break noses, start brawls" type of D to return.

I'd like to see a little effort on the defensive end, though. With the talent on this squad, that will go a long way. I strongly disagree with red33's comment that this team won't do well if asked to play defense. They don't have to be Charles Oakley. They just have to acknowledge that team defense will help their cause tremendously. I highly doubt Amare and Melo are not capable of that. 90% of great defense is effort. They've shown they can do it.

D'Antoni is the biggest obstacle to overcome right now. I hope he realizes what he needs to do, but I won't hold my breath.

Whether or not they can get CP3 or Deron in 2012, they need a legit center. I assume now, getting a guy like Marc Gasol or Deandre Jordan via RFA is out of the question because of all the money tied up to 2 guys, plus they have nothing to trade in the off-season so no sign and trades.

That's the part that has me worried the most (well, besides the likelihood of Walsh being forced out in June or July and that horrible Isiah returning with that stupid smile on his face when you know he's as close to a basketball devil there is), forcing Amare to be the big guy and taking all the tough hits. They should be looking to keep him protected as much as possible with a big center in the off-season.

The needs for NY as it stands now:

                  -a working brain for Dolan
-something to happen where Isiah is forced into solitary
                  -A legit starting center
-A true back-up point guard who can play maybe 10 minutes a game
-A swingman off the bench (maybe Brewer can be this guy because Shawne Williams is more of a defensive specialist who can shoot the three ball)

For a center they should convince that angry looking Turkish brute that plays for West Virginia to declare and draft him.

I'm hearing Brewer might be packaged in another deal.

Would you say that about anyone else's wife? For fuck's sake, they're married and they have a kid.

Melo had millions before, and he'll make even more. If he was going to find someone else, he would have by now.

Oh but I forgot, he's a professional athlete so he's going to go fuck around right?

Let me put it this way, I think people over value Lala's opinion. Sure she's his wife and had a say, but in the end Melo made his own mind up. It's not like Lala demanded him to seek a trade, he wanted to go to NY. And for the record I agree with you about Melo personality, I don't know why I posted that.

Who cares about his wife and whether she was a driving force in leaving Denver.

Melo seriously thought he was going to Jersey, David Aldridge was reporting that Monday night before word broke about the Knicks, Melo was telling people he was going to Jersey. Then New York put Mozgov in the deal and got him.

Melo was not going to free agency.

                            And Melo will wear #7.
