They're not getting Brooks, but that would only be a rental.

What do you define defense as? If you think Bill Laimbeer or Patrick Ewing knocking someone on his ass driving to the hoop as defense, then no the NBA doesn't have that type of defense anymore.

If you're talking about actual defense then watch a Spurs, Lakers, Celtics, Heat, Bulls, Magic or Hornets game and tell me there's no D in the NBA.

Perimeter defense is a good as it's ever been even with the hand check being called. Wing defense in particular. Interior defense is not nearly as hard or as much of a beat down on a night-to-night basis but it's much smarter.

You're right, FedEx, the 90s-style defense is dead and gone. But I want these Knicks to play better TEAM defense. Did you see that nonsense last night against the friggin' Clippers? Scoring isn't the Knicks problem - there's no effort on the defensive end. I put that on D'Amphony. He doesn't teach or hold players accountable. Dude's a fraud.

Love this guy, would love to see him go to New York, imo he would be a good fit.

He specifically teaches them NOT to play defense. Putting too much effort into defense is a waste to him.

Point I'm trying to make is that's not indicative of the NBA as a whole.
