Well I think after this road trip the season will be officially done. We may slide into the playoffs, but I kind of hope we don't, we need a lottery pick.
The local radio guys today were talking about buying out Dice's contract so he can play for a contender and so we can let some of our younger guys get more playing time, like Amir Johnson. Obviously Sheed and AI are gone after this season ands it clear to me that Stuckey is not a point guard.
So, we have three real needs. A pass first point guard, a dominant scoring big man down low, and a dominant big man defender rebounder type guy down low. We should be able to bring a defensive type guy down low in this upcoming offseason, than we have a choice with out first pick. We have to go point guard or big man. The thing is we are obviously going to be eyeing Bosh and Amare in 2010, maybe even Boozer in 2009 (hopefully Joe is patient so we can throw big bucks at Bosh).
Than that leads us to the conundrum of bringing Rip or Stuckey off the bench, personally I think it has to be Rip cause Stuckey is the future. Rip may want to be dealt and in that deal maybe we can address a nice 3 point shooter or something to that element.
These are my ideas and some of what will probably happen.
What do you guys think will go down?
