Pistons Fans, Where do we go from here?

Well I think after this road trip the season will be officially done. We may slide into the playoffs, but I kind of hope we don't, we need a lottery pick.

The local radio guys today were talking about buying out Dice's contract so he can play for a contender and so we can let some of our younger guys get more playing time, like Amir Johnson. Obviously Sheed and AI are gone after this season ands it clear to me that Stuckey is not a point guard.

So, we have three real needs. A pass first point guard, a dominant scoring big man down low, and a dominant big man defender rebounder type guy down low. We should be able to bring a defensive type guy down low in this upcoming offseason, than we have a choice with out first pick. We have to go point guard or big man. The thing is we are obviously going to be eyeing Bosh and Amare in 2010, maybe even Boozer in 2009 (hopefully Joe is patient so we can throw big bucks at Bosh).

Than that leads us to the conundrum of bringing Rip or Stuckey off the bench, personally I think it has to be Rip cause Stuckey is the future. Rip may want to be dealt and in that deal maybe we can address a nice 3 point shooter or something to that element.

These are my ideas and some of what will probably happen.

What do you guys think will go down?

He drafted Darko, ahead of Wade, Melo, and Bosh (I think Bosh was in that draft).

anyway, in all seriousness, you guys should have no worries. Sheed and AI gone, that means you got some extreme room for some top-notch and quality players. you just gotta make sure you sign the right people.
Yeah I really think we need to throw big cash at Bosh. We have a scorer in Stuckey, we do need just a nice passing point guard. Another thing that wouldn't hurt is a three point shooter off the bench, our best three point shooter right now is Rasheed. That is not acceptable.

GIVE STUCKEY A BREAK, He hasnt even started a full season at PG yet. He will learn and he will be fine. Pistons dont need a lottery pick, they just need to sign a FA that can rebound and score in the post, and actually get a KNOWN shooter off the bench. Im tired fo Walter Herman, bring in someone who can shoot at SF and get a better backup PG then Will Bynum.

        Next year line:up

        PG: Stuckey
        SG: Rip
        SF: Prince
        PF: McDyess
        C: Free Agent

          mistake to trade chauncey
"From the time he hits the court, he plays at a competitive level that you rarely see," Popovich says. "He does the exact same things that Kobe (Bryant) does, that Michael Jordan did.

I realize Stuckey is in his first season at point guard, I just think he could be more successful at the 2 guard. It would take some pressure off of him and allow him to be what he really is, a scorer.

idk rip isnt retiring any time soon, hes one of the most in shape guys in the nba

Well if we go into rebuilding mode, Rip could be dealt. Its a definite possibility to me, we'd deal Rip and put Stuckey at the 2. Maybe trade Rip for a point guard or something.

Curry/Dumars fucked up first off by putting Rip on the Bench. I'd would've had Stuckey coming at #6 and AI at point. Both likes to get their shots but they are both runners.

Stuckey is a slasher style player. If I was him I'd be trying to score more often as well. He broke his hand last year and needs to get back into him mold. The passing will come along. I think he'll develop into a (yes I said it) a CP3/D. Wad style PG. He'll be able to hurt you in all ways.

Sheed plays up top too much, it's like he dont play down low much at all. And if he hits a couple of shots it's over he'll go like 6/15 lol

We need a Defensive body like Ben was. ...

                  More to come...

The team would be better off with a pass first point guard not a scorer like Stuckey. I realize he isn't a great shooter but we need a floor general out there not a guy to drive the lane and get fouled.
