Wow! Knicks fans are handing the keys to Lin? Lin is a great story, but the Knicks are going to need Melo and Stoudemire to be a real contender. I see trouble coming to NY, as it seems the fans will cheer Lin regardless of what he does and boo Melo and Stoudemire any time they take a shot
Lin should open things up for Melo and Amare. With his threat to attack the bucket and dish it, potentially this is the definition of a D'Antoni offense.
You know, the opposite of holding the ball for 15 seconds and then taking a stupid shot.
Im not sure why there is so much hate for Stat, i understand Melo because of all his Iso plays but Stat has proved he can be great in this system and the only reason he forces stuff is because he has been asked to since we didn't have a Point guard.
Anyways i think we will have a better mesh once Melo and Stat come back. Melo opens the floor up for Lin and the pick and rolls. While also if the offense is in a funk Melo can save it if needed.
All we needed was a PG who can run the pick and Roll
IIRC, Melo wanted Lin to get more PT before he actually started to because he was the only real PG on the current roster at the time...so I feel this will be a good thing for the knicks.

Wes Welker is a great player. He's really taken advantage of watching film. If we don't keep a Spy on him, he could really open the Gate.
No hate on STAT from me, love what he did for us, bringing some star power back to ny. Melo, meh, I just wish he'd pass more, that's all.
Love the J-Lin story since I have a bunch of friends at harvard and go up every 2 months or so. Most of them are cheering for J-lin even tho they root for the celtics.
Ya'll are already setting up Melo as the fall guy...

Truth and I don't like it.
Lin is a great story, but it doesn't have to be Lin or Melo', but it seems a lot of Knicks fans and ESPN want it like this. Yesterday on PTI they actually had a discussion about whether the Knicks should trade Melo. Seriously? They can't wait until Melo is even back on the court first? It's not as if Melo did't have his best years playing along side Billups or anything. IMO people are making too much of this Melo thing. As I said Melo welcomes Lin, as he won't have to play LeBron and keep everyone involved, because that isn't his game. He can now be a scorer, which is what he does best.

Exactly, and late in a tight game, you need your scorer to take over and get clutch baskets. These knuckleheads at Knick fan sites who want Carmelo traded don't know shit about basketball. In the NBA, you need at least TWO legit stars to have a chance of making a playoff run. These were the same folks who wanted Carmelo here in the first place.
Melo has said he likes the fact that Lin is playing well, that the only reason he was handling the ball so much was because we didn't have a true point guard.
I'm really hoping Lin will be able to dish it to Melo at the right times, and not just give it to him every time he asks for it. High hopes for this team right now. Lin's a breath of fresh air.
