Updating a previous post, the Hornets are now expected to trade Chris Paul to the Lakers in a three team deal with the Lakers (Lamar Odom and Pau Gasol) and the Rockets (Kevin Martin, Luis Scola and Goran Dragic).

The Hornets are expected to get Lamar Odom, Kevin Martin, Luis Scola and Goran Dragic, while the Rockets get Pau Gasol. This is a major coup for the Lakers, who now have an All-Universe backcourt and managed to land CP3 without losing Bynum, the likely centerpiece of an offer for Dwight Howard. It's ironic that this blockbuster, which enriches one of the highest-spending big-market franchises in the league (at the expense of a small-market league-owned franchise), went through on the same day as the new CBA. Keep checking Rotoworld's player news for all the fantasy fallout.

Happy to see the Rockets take the T'Wolves role of facilitating large market team's needs while getting little to nothing in return.

Well if the Knicks are going to sign Tyson Chandler I don't know who becomes their PG of the future. But the trade of Paul to LA I think takes the Kincks out of the Chandler signing.

Yeah I see absolutely no way how this helps them. They give up their top two players just to facilitate a deal for two other teams.

They'll likely get Baron and have Douglas be the backup for now...

they didn't need Butler anymore but losing Chandler is big...unless Haywood and the other kid they have at Center can provide defense, shot blocking down low.

If the Magic accept that they are just bending over and taking it up the ass.

That's what REALLY pisses me off about the NBA. The trade market is Madden-like. From trading very good players for awful players with expiring contracts in order to free up cap room to sign a mid-level FA who isn't as good as the guy you traded away who is still under contract. Then you have a team like the Lakers who got an All Star in Pau Gasol and gave up his lesser talented brother who is just now developing into a player (and probably leaving Memphis, after averaging 12 and 7). And now they can turn him and Odom for one of the best players in the league. Could you imagine the Vikings trading Adrian Peterson to the Pats for Jerod Mayo and Deion Branch? People would be pissed! But in NBA, it's par for the course. Teams are all too happy to bend over for the benefit of the top teams.

Possibly, but no one browses this forum with signatures turned on.
