    NBA Rumors Thread

    NBA players stuck in China?

The Chinese Basketball Association instituted a rule that any NBA free agent signing in the league was not allowed an out-clause to return to the NBA if the lockout ended. (Save for Yi Jianlian, a native of the country).

Still, there was some chatter players may be able to scoot around the rule.

But according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports, don't count on that happening.

He tweeted late Monday morning: "Chinese teams have shown no inclination to let Kenyon Martin, Wilson Chandler, J.R. Smith, etc., out of contracts, sources tell Y! Sports. If strategy becomes to make themselves problems there -- or In Smith's case, a bigger problem -- teams can fine, suspend them, without pay. The NBA's a member of FIBA, and it abides by international contracts signed by players. Players and agents knew that when they signed deals."

With the three listed about all receiving solid playing time as members of the Nuggets last season -- and with them seemingly not able to come back for the NBA's free agency period -- the Nuggets are going to have to do some re-tooling via the free-agent market next month.

      LOL, China don't play.

ALL YOUR ROTATION PLAYERS, ARE BELONG TO US

In other news, there's a lot of talk that the Hawks will use the amnesty clause to free up payroll. They are over the cap but have just 7 players under contract.

A team like the Hawks probably should use it.

Lakers, Bulls or any other team that's in contention probably shouldn't use it until next season (for those calling for Bulls to use it on Boozer).

Atlanta, you may as well get up from under some pretty bad contracts for a team that's AT BEST a 4th seed.

Please let the Timberwolves blow a ton of money on Brandon Roy's missing knees so we can start the process of grossly overpaying players all over again.

Lewis is another obvious candidate. Then again, you can hold onto that guy for another year if you want and grab that space for the next offseason.

That honestly is one of, if not the worst contracts in NBA history. People forget just how AWFUL that is, especially since he didn't get hurt, he was really just there... being mediocre.

Technically he will... it just won't count against the cap of any team.

They also have the stretch exemption where instead of buying out Rashard's contract all at once you can stretch it over the course of 15-20 years.

It's been a total debacle for JR Smith.

He suffered an apparent knee injury in the 1st game last week. He wanted an outside medical examination, China said that is not prohibited you must go with a the teams medical examination. His knee is fine, but team GM is not happy with what is going on. Not a good start to his season over seas.

Players in China end their season in March.

OMG he will FINALLY have free reign to take a high volume of shots and not play any defense! What a different player he'll become!

He's bringing the Hawks with him to New Jersey to replace the Nets.

Jersey was better off with the Nets. The Nets were successfully purchased by a Russian billionaire, the Hawks were unsuccessfully purchased by a Mexican who owned a few regional pizza chains.
