Orlando has the potential to be a good market that players would want to play in (see the McGrady/Hill FA signings several years ago), but they have to make the right moves.
Management won't do this trade. If Howard and Paul both jump ship, they'll be stuck with players like Turkoglu and Big Baby Davis as their marquee players. These people are trying to e safe with their jobs.

It's official. The NBA has also sent a statement to Billups that he needs to show up for camp and can't sit out.

Decent signing. He really is a shell of his former self.

Also decent. Don't forget this is the same delonte that was caught riding a motorcycle with a guitar case full of guns.

    I really like their pieces.

    and T-Wolves sign Barea to a 4year deal...wtf!??
Yea I have to agree, they seem legit. They'll definitely make the playoffs, a 6th seed is not impossible with that lineup. Also, I'd have Mayo coming off the bench behind George.

Incredibly stupid along with signing Barea. They need big men, not guards.

It's awesome. I've never been this optimistic about the Clippers chances. This season is going to be fun.

Another shining example of the lockout changing nothing.

Chauncey Billups gets amnesty cut by the Knicks, and threatens to retire if he is claimed on waivers because he wants to sign with Miami. So the Clippers claim him, and Billups says he won't report.

He'll end up on Miami, because the GM's and owners are powerless in this shit league, and the players do whatever they want.

Why don't they just let every player pick his own team at the start of every season and just end this facade? That's where we're going with this.

He can't be traded from the Clippers until after the season. He'll have to retire and then sit out the season if he doesn't want to play on the Clippers.

Do you really think he's going to throw 14.7MM away?

If he has the money saved up why not? He is not looking for money, he wants to play for a ring. Carson Palmer did pretty much the same thing in the NFL

Difference between Chauncey an Carson is that Chauncey already has a championship ring, and was the finals mvp as well. As much as he hates it now, he's in a good spot now. With the Paul deal dead, he's gonna be the starting pg eventually, no way he's behind mo williams the whole year.

The Clippers are not the Minnesota Timberwolves. They can (and probably will) make the playoffs this year. I'm not saying that I expect the Clippers to contend for the Championship this year, but he has a chance of playing on the same team as some of the best young players in the NBA. He get's to be the veteran presence and shown respect by the likes of Blake Griffin, Eric Gordon, DeAndre Jordan, and if the trade for CP3 doesn't happen - a season's worth of mentoring on Eric Bledsoe. Caron Butler was a solid FA pick up, too.

I think Neil Olshey will be able to sell Chauncey on the Clippers.

Yeah, I can't see why Chauncey wouldn't want to play in LA for the Clippers. I could average 5 assists a game with Gordon and Griffin on my team.

I have a feeling that Howard would stay if they brought someone in........this entire offseason he's been going back and forth with wanting to stay or leave. Howard is one of those guys that doesn't like to be hated and that could work into Orlando's favor. I'd be willing to bet if Paul was traded to Orlando with Dwight Howard the both of them would stay. However, I understand your point, but if they lose Howard they aren't going to get anything in return that they can build around. They have to understand that in order to progress into an elite franchise they have to take chances.

Billups won't be able to pick and choose who he plays for. It's play for the Clippers (they cannot trade him) or give up over $14 million.

The Mayo deal is reportedly Josh McRoberts and Brandon Rush to Memphis for him.

Warriors signed Kwame Brown. Paid him way too much money, at least it was only a one year deal.
