13 kids? Holy fucking roster management. Do you have to play each and every one of those little kids each game?

I love four high whenever we have no height, but you have to make sure the kids know to use the big man for a two man game, otherwise he just kind of gets in the way of penetration ()

We have two teams. So one team has 6 one team has 7. FML.

                We shuffle rosters each week.

Part of the offense has built in high pick and roll so it's taught as part of the offense.

First games were over the weekend. Splitting 13 kids into two teams sucks. We are done doing it.

We are officially combining into one team for the rest of the season. I had the "A" Team and went 1-2. We played really well the first game. Beat a conference rivals feeder team. The next two games we played close bu just died down the stretch. To top it off I had one kid get achey knees, and he was coming off the flu from the day before so he wore down quickly...then the last game I had a different kid get into early foul trouble. They were dragging ass the last game and almsot pulled out the win.

Solid start to the season though. The offense ran smoothly, had a lot of work to do on defense in terms of learning how to defend on and off ball screens. Stuff like that. Easily correctable with practice.

Going to one team now will be nice as we are easily 10 deep and can go full bench mob if we so choose to mixing in the 3 lesser players as we see fit.

Going one team will be hard as hell for playing time, but it's probably better than fielding a 6 man rotation every game.

Meh it's not that tough. We had a tournament over the weekend. Went with one team. Took the consolation championship. Lost our first. Won out the rest of the way. The team we lost to the first game was bad but we missed somewhere around 1,000 layups.

This weekend we are playing in a tournament in some shit town. We will split teams up and more than likely can win the thing as a split squad. The bigger, tougher tournaments we will go with one team.

Last weekend was an up and down weekend. Each team lost their first game.(The A squad was up 13 in the the quarter and lost. Missed layups again) Then won out so we ended up playing eachother for the consolation championship. Rather than play eachother we said fuck it and asked another team(who ironically was playign their other team in the 5th place game) if they wanted to combine teams and play a game.

Won that won. Overall a good weekend. 4-2. Consolation win.

Have our last split squad tourny this weekend. What sucks even more is that we had a kid break his thumb on Monday at practice so now we are down to 6 kids on each team for this weekend. One team for the rest of the year though.

Practice last night was awful. Kids weren't focused. Ended up running for 5 minutes straight at one point. Ended practice one minute early, told them their teams and sent them home.

Our B team will be lucky to win a game this weekend but our "A" team should at least get to the championship..if not win the whole thing.

Only two weekends left after this one.
