+/- is perhaps the most basic of statistics. It doesn't take into account any individual performance...it just lumps everything together; its one of those "he happened to be on the floor" types of stats.
What I don't understand: what is your point for defending the statement that Deng's +/- rating is higher than Derrick Rose's? Is the implication that Deng is more valuable than Rose? If not, then why make the comparison at all? Is Deng competing with Rose for an all-star spot? Does Rose play the same position as Deng?
Deng must have been pretty dominant in those 128 minutes.
