Most people said take Irving or take Williams and Knight since Cleveland had two high picks.

I never heard anything about Kanter but he does look like he will also have a great future. His rebound rate and general strength around the basket is insane for a rookie.

I guess a lot of people were also in favor of Williams over Irving, but also said they'd take Kanter too.

Irving #1 overall? You don't need a PG to win the in the NBA. Taking a PG #1 overall is like taking a RB #1 overall...dumb.

Kanter could be a bust but he at least is a rarer commodity and thus has a higher chance of being a difference maker.

If the Cavs can get Williams and Kanter and those guys develop all they need to do is get a servicable PG and they will be fine.

I'm firmly in the Williams>Irving camp for the #1 pick.

He is a pure point, but it looks like he may be close to his ceiling already, but i've been wrong about point guards in the past, and i did suggest that the Bulls pick Beasley over Rose so hey this could be a repeat of the past.

In the end i would pair Williams and Kanter if i were the Cavs, Ramon Sessions has already proven to be a more than serviceable starting point guard.

That really proves how much NBA knowledge people have around these parts.

Going to use this to vent my frustration about the Cavs...as they have lost 6 in a row, and now go on the road to face Denver and the Thunder next. Oh well I suppose it had to happen eventually especially with Varejao out. It's about time we try and dish off Anthony Parker and Jamison for anything we can get. This team with a high draft pick [I want Harrison Barnes oh so bad] to play alongside Kyrie will be fun to watch in the coming years.

I'd still take Williams over Irving #1.

I'd argue today's NBA is a PG dominated game. Irving has top 5 PG potential and Derrick Williams is still a tweener despite being an exciting talent.

                          I wouldn't.

How many PG centric teams have won NBA titles?

Derrick Williams is a 15/10 guy at best I think. Kyrie Irving is a superstar.

Not many but I'd argue today's rules and with the recent talent influx at PG has made it a huge need if you want to be in the playoffs. (unless you have a superstar at a different position)

Even without this argument... you'd take a tweener over a potential and probable top 5 PG?
