I would love to see Gottlieb get this job. Very solid point guards seem to make good coaches to me, not the greats but the really solid guys who worked hard and played smarter than others.

Pearl would be great hire if Gottlieb flamed out after the two more years left on Bruce's probation.

Gottlieb just throwing his name in there because he can. Not really qualified or experienced, but hey, he wants to do it so why not let him, right? Typical self-important douchery coming from an ESPN employee.

In other news, Bill Simmons for Milwaukee Bucks GM!

Clearly NAHSTE didn't even read the article or listen to the radio interview.

          Solid post, bud.

Yeah, if everything is equal. But, it's not. South Carolina is horrible and K-State is a program on the rise.

Martin wanted to get out. There's no other explanation for him to take a step down as quickly as he did.

Yeah there was obviously a problem between him and Currie this year, or else he would have easily taken the job in his home town at The U last year over SC this year.

lm looking at your recruits over past 5 years, and he's hit South Florida and the Northeast hard. Im saying if those are the areas where his connections are then its much easier to get those kids to come to Columbia SC and stay on the East Coast. Columbia's population is about 40 pct black people where Manhattatan is 5 pct. Its an easier sell for a 18 year old from the inner cities.
The KS and TX kids which seem to be the other areas he recruited will likely continue to come no matter who the new coach is.

I loved when you guys were good and gave Kansas something to fear instead of unabashedly ruling the big 12. In athletics all it takes in money to be good, Okie State is on the rise since TBoone opened up that pocket book and gave them blank checks. USCe was a doormat in football for years until they decided to spend more money and hire Spurrier.

We just can't have nice things at K-State.

Yeah, if only K-State would have gotten the guy with his own radio show, then the fan base would be satisfied with the hire.

Not that Weber is a good coach or anything, but this is a hilarious reaction by K-State fans.

"A real coach with practical experience? What the shit is this? Didn't Curry know that Doug fucking Gottlieb was INTRIGUED by the position?"

It didn't have to be Gottlieb, but Weber is a fucking bum.

We were just looking for some creative, outside the box thinking.

Hiring Weber is about as far away from that as you can get.

Gottlieb would have been a million times better. Maybe he would have failed miserably. But, we don't know that. We know Weber will...because he already proved it at Illinois.

I'm just shocked right now. I don't know how this fucking guy got hired.

"But YAY for practical experience! Can't wait to experience missing out on the NCAA tourney 3 out of 5 years! Looking forward to the collapses in conference play! YEAH!"

                                Is that better, NAHSTE?

                                What a joke.
