Amazingly to me is how in the NCAA its legal to be running alongside someone on a fastbreak then at the last instant step in front of the guy and fall backwards and get a charge call. Its ridiculous, and its also dangerous how many times these phantom charge calls are the product of somebody getting undercut after they jump. I remember the poor Vanderbilt guard got something like 3 charging calls in 5 minutes against Wisconsin, and they were all bogus calls.
The NCAA has gone WAY overboard with it.

The charge call at the end of NC St and UNC is another great example

I'm not much more than a basketball novice. The first one to me looks like a foul but what do I know? The second looks like a legal, supreme display of athleticism to the extent that if it is a foul by the rules then basketball and I just won't get along.

Yeah, charge calls in basketball are absolutely horrible. Its at the point now where it isn't even worth driving to the hoop, because someone will slide in front (or under) the ball handler and get a charge call.....its absolutely horrible and kills the game

watching live it was pretty bad, and pau was definitely shook b/c he preceded to a) miss that easy dunk, b)get that technical, c)mope a bit on the bench

luckily in the 3rd and end of 4th he manned up a bit

              GO LAKERS!

And the first putback was clearly an over the back & the second one he was pushing towards the end of his dunk when play was over and elbow all in gasols face
Speaking of which, he was bailed out on that bricked dunk. They called a foul when nobody even touched him on that shit. The initial view made it look like he was pushed in the back then they showed the overhead angle and he wasnt even touched, fucker just went flying into the crowd.

                Great dunk and all..

But more important on the charge thing in college ball, Its gotten completely out of hand. The ratio of charge to block had to be like 5/1 this year, it was insane. Refs seemed to call almost every contact play an offensive foul.

First time I watched it I was disgusted.

Second time I watched it I screamed foul.

Third time I watched it I learned a valuable lesson.

                    1st dunk
looks like Gasol got there late and Griffin was already spreading out. At first watch I thought he pushed his elbow into Gasol's mug but he looked like he just kept extended and braced in the natural motion of his crushing dunk.

If that was Shaq or Brown or Kobe making that dunk..I would of been damnnn! Amazing.

2nd dunk, psh, Griff just went UP. I mean he didn't need Gasol's back to get that one. He just happened to land on it as he came down from the Heavens.

                    Fuck you Blake Griffin.
