After the news broke that the Lakers had acquired Dwight Howard from the Orlando Magic in exchange for Andrew Bynum, the next logical question to ask was whether or not Howard would immediately agree to an extension with Los Angeles. —- Get your Lakers Nation gear and show off your team pride! —- According to […]Comment

That doesn't mean anything Mike. Lakers will still be able to offer him $25M more than any other team could in free agency. Worst case scenario, Howard absolutely loathes the Lakers and LA and says screw the money, he's leaving for Dallas or whomever. Most realistic scenario, he signs on the dotted line.
FWIW, the Nets final offer before they signed Lopez to the extension was Lopez, Humphries, Brooks and 4 unprotected first rounders.

2. SC ran a story today that sources close to Howard say he's gonna go where the money is. LA can offer him the most money but can't sign him till after the season. Brooklyn won't be able to offer him the money to sign. LA team with Kobe, Pau, and Nash gives him his best chance at winning a title. Where the fuck else would he go?
3. I'm still struggling to understand how replacing Bynum for Howard straight up is hurting LAs team defense rather than helping it.Comment

Its LA LOL they just keep reloading.
If this ends up being a silly orlando Woolridge type move, so what ?
the point is the Lakers make an effort to get notable players and try to advance in the second season. And they annualy do a better job at it then anyone else in the league.Comment

Is D12 an upgrade over Bynum? Yes he is but is really by that much? The Lakers were already a pretty good team inside so in honestly this trade doesn't help them that much granted Dwight can do a lot more on the offensive side of the ball with less touches and he is a better off ball player than Bynum but the issues that the Lakers had before are still there they lack offensive firepower, Kobe will still be jacking up 25+ shots a game, Nash will not fit in a Mike Brown offense, and Pau Gasol isn't getting any younger along with the rest of the Lakers. Pull your head out your ass and stop drinking the kool-aid.Comment

When did I say it made them worse? The perimeter defense is where the Lakers are just flat out bad and Dwight doesn't help much there.

Yes Howard is an upgrade, he wont have baby hissy fits when things go bad on the court and he has a better work ethic in general, and he is more consistant. He wil serve a better purpose.
and with a full preseason we can actually see if the coaches defensive gameplanning is better executedComment
