Multiple reports suggest that the Lakers may be ready to make a serious run at LeBron James in 2014.
Kobe Bryant's contract expires that year and he's expected to retire, and Jim Buss spoke about wanting to team another superstar alongside a (hopefully) re-signed Dwight Howard, and point guard Steve Nash, who will be in the final year of his deal that season. This is just speculation, but it's clear the Lakers have built their salary structure with a goal of making a huge splash in 2014, and LeBron has to be their obvious first choice as of now.
