If GS pulls this off they'll be 2M under the cap. Would still need to move Jefferson+Rush (which would give them 17M) or Jefferson+Biedrins (22M).

Apparently if Dwight doesn't sign with them they'd go after Iguodala.

You know with the Lakers pitching 2014 they really are asking Dwight to throw away a year of his prime.

He'll go to Houston, they'll deal at least Asik to LA and that'll be it.

The Lakers will not take any long-term contracts. That is not gonna happen (the 2nd part of your sentence).

Lakers aren't in a position to be picky.

GSW is giving Utah multiple picks including 2014 1st to get rid of the $24 mil in contracts.

                    Meanwhile, Warriors have signed Iguodala.

Still in play for Dwight if they can dump David Lee.

The Golden State Warriors are still ready to engage the Los Angeles Lakers in sign-and-trade discussions, according to sources.

The Warriors acquired Andre Iguodala on Friday after they cleared cap space in a deal with the Utah Jazz.

The Warriors would build any deal for Howard around the expiring contract of Andrew Bogut and either Harrison Barnes or Klay Thompson.

If the Warriors are unable to make a deal for Howard, he is expected to sign with the Houston Rockets, according to a source.

The Rockets, Warriors, Lakers, Dallas Mavericks and Atlanta Hawks have been in pursuit of Howard this offseason.

Now that Dallas lost out on CP3 and Dwight, where do they go now?

I wouldn't be surprised if this Iggy deal puts them in a position to trade Barnes to the Lakers and still be solid on the wing. Right now it makes little sense to have Iggy and Barnes.

Plus they can sell the Lakers on the fact that if they don't do a S&T with them Dwight will just sign with the Rockets and they'll get nothing.
