ND loses to Indiana St, Carolina loses to Belmont, Maryland loses to an awful Oregon St team.

Duke/East Carolina was really good. Bryant Stith's kid is a freshman C on ECU, and he looked good. Parker's biggest contribution down the stretch for Duke was defensively. He's some player.

St John's/Bucknell was a good game, too. SJU squeaked by. Looks like Lavin has another overhyped SJU team this year. They are always "the most talented team in the Big East" with his collection of transfers, second tier one & done's, and street ballers who barely qualify, and then they proceed to do nothing. In four years Lavin has one NCAA bid, and two 11th place Big East finishes.

Memphis played a good team (Okie St) and looked like poop. Act surprised. Pastner is the most overrated coach in the country. OSU put up 100+. Ex-Missouri G Michael Dixon transferred to Memphis, and if you don't know much about Dixon, just picture every other Memphis player under Pastner. Out of control, no discipline, bad shot selection, thinks he's playing in an And 1 game.

Butler beat Vandy at home. Go Big East. That's a tough building to win in. Butler was supposedly going to have a down year, I don't buy it.

Jahii Carson put up 40 for Arizona St, who knocked off UNLV.

Arizona killed Rhode Island, who stinks.

The season is 10 days old, and has already been awesome.

              Tonight's national slate (eastern):

Lehigh at Pitt, 7:30 ESPNU - This is not the Lehigh team that knocked off Duke in the NCAA. 1-3, only win over Rider, lost to Minnesota, Houston & Fordham.

American @ Ohio St, 7:30 Big Ten Network - meh. American can be feisty but this should be a blowout.

Wichita St @ Tulsa, 8:00 CBS Sports Network - No juice.

Miami (Oh) @ Xavier, 8:00 FS1 - Supposed to be a down year for Xavier, but they are 3-0 out of the gate with a win over Tennessee. Miami isn't very good.

Iowa St @ BYU, 9:30 ESPNU - Game of the night, easily. I'm actually pretty pumped for this. Both have a big win (ISU def. Michigan, BYU def. Stanford) and looked good doing it. These are the types of teams that fly under the radar, and then blow up your bracket in March when they make a nice run. If you are a hardcore CBB fan, you have to at least check in on this game or be there for the final 5 or 10 minutes of gametime.

If you have an expanded sports package, not much going on regionally, NC St vs North Carolina Central, & Baylor hosting Charleston Southern can be found, but neither is very attractive.

Looks like an NBA night, wedged between the awesome night last night, and an all day CBB marathon tomorrow with tournaments and games starting at 10:30 am and running running all night.

Haws is going to play tonight for BYU too, was some speculation he wouldn't be able to go. Should be a good game.

Putrid second half effort in San Juan vs Northeastern by Georgetown, blowing a big halftime lead.

Also, I've had more people in my living room than they had in that arena for the first two games of that tournament.

Karvel Anderson made 8-10 3PT tonight in a 88-81 win over UT-Arlington, tying his own (with others) Sewall Center record for three-point field goals in a game. Anderson is now 22-41 (53.7%) behind the arc for the season and is averaging 19.0 PPG.

Pretty good time to have a big game with a scout from the Cavs in the house.

I was surprised by UTA's size they seemed to have about 3 -7 footers.

They don't play like 7 footers though. There's not the same aggressiveness on the boards and defensively from them compared to the other big teams RMU's faced like EMU and Kentucky. That Reger Dowell kid they have is really good - there's a reason he played at Oklahoma State.

Pitt signed a 6'11" Center from Canaris in Spain. That brings the current recruiting class for 2014 to Sheldon Jeter, 6'8" SF, Ryan Luther 6'8" SF, and Shaquille Doorson 6'11" Center. Dat height

Fantastic day in hoops. UNC/Louisville, GTown/VCU, Duke/Vermont, and Charlotte/Michigan were all excellent games.

Feel bad for those who watched that other product all day today.
