He's on his fourth school now (Voorhees College - a NAIA school in SC) and hasn't played a competitive minute of basketball (save a few from the Pittsburgh Summer League a few months ago) since his sophomore year at RMU. Has to sit out the year because of some academic stuff, and now is thinking about trying to transfer back up to a D1 program.

Would have been interesting to see how he would have done last year as a senior at RMU if he never would have gotten booted from the team, but then again we wouldn't have Karvel Anderson - the best story in college basketball (http://triblive.com/sports/college/r...#axzz2ONdESYie) - if Karon was here last year.

This kid is from where I'm from and I remember us playing against him. Didn't know this was how he turned out tho. Cool story.

Rocking with Mercer as my adopted mid major this year. Tiny school in Macon, GA. Lost to FGCU last year in the conference tourney.

Sim Bhullar is more aggressive this season (particularly offensively), but is still woefully out of shape, and for every two easy dunks he provides, he gives up a hoop while plodding up the floor on a miss while his team plays 5 on 4. It's halftime as I type this, and I saw it happen three times. The third time, he was barely past half court when Hawaii scored, so he ended up getting a 2K14 Online cheese dunk on the other end because he was unintentionally court hanging.

If nothing else, he's fascinating to watch. He does occasionally jump while playing defense now, and he is dunking on m'fers left & right.

Within the first two minutes of the second half, Bhullar got beat badly on a backdoor cut (-2), threw down his fourth dunk (+2), grabbed a rebound without jumping & then proceeded to get tied up by a POINT GUARD thus losing possession (led to a hoop) (-2), actually left his feet to swat a shot in epic fashion (+2, I guess), and then got called for an offensive foul jockeying for position with a guy 6'5" (-2, I guess).

Then he left the game gassed.

                I love this guy.

I crashed for a little bit during the Akron/St. Mary's game, and the first thing I woke up to was BHULLAR dunking. Like poetry in motion.

Friend Trevor Cooney scored 27 and 7-8 from 3 Friday night for Syracuse. Crazy hype, hope he does big things this season.

                          Robert Morris 90, Lafayette 81

                          - Good win against a team who was a consensus top two pick in the Patriot League on their home floor. Colonials were down 11 at one point, but Karvel Anderson dropped 16 of his game-high 21 points in the last six minutes of the game.
                          - Junior college transfer Juanie Newton stuffed the stat sheet tonight with 10 points, 7 boards, and 3 steals - including a big one late in the game to put RMU up 8. There was one point in the game where he missed a shot, got his own rebound, missed another shot, got his own rebound, and eventually got open behind the arc for three.
                          - Most surprising performance of the night has to go to junior guard/forward David Appolon. Kid can't really shoot or pass at all (good defender though, ask Ohio's D.J. Cooper), but he came up big tonight with 10 points (2-2 3PT) and 5 boards. He saw increased playing time because of freshman Kavon Stewart's absence.
                          - Definitely nicer to start the season off with a bang than get shit on by Rider and Lehigh, that's for sure.

                          Next Game: 11/14 @ Eastern Michigan (2-0)

I still think they're gonna be a top team, if not the top team, come march.

Don't think so. He dresses but doesn't play. They have a big mandingo backup C straight out of some third world nation who backs up Sim.

-DeAndre Kane looking like a pretty good transfer right now, led the team with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Will be curious to see if he can keep it up against better competition.
-Naz Long only attempted 4 shots after leading the team in scoring in the first game, finished with 5 points. Still not sure what to make of him two games into his Cyclone career.
-Had five players in double-figures, but just a pretty average game for everyone all around, no one really stood out.

Definitely can't wait to see this team vs Michigan, a lot will be determined then.
