So, Lavin has to be getting fired at the end of this season, no?
Yes. God, he stinks.
So tired of hearing about how St John's is "the most talented team in the Big East" every single year. No, they aren't. It's always a collection of shitty transfers and ove rhyped recruits who never deliver. Even Mo Harkless wasn't great in his one season. His best player now from a skill standpoint is a 26 year old dude who's been bouncing around junior colleges for 8 years. The hyped class that came in with Harkless, they all ended up being busts...Amir Garrett quit to play baseball for the Reds, Sir Dominic Pointer stinks, Harrison is nothing special, a couple of them got kicked out of school or transferred, etc.
Lavin has to go.
Also, good for DePaul getting on a small roll here. Two straight conference wins for the first time since January 2008!

I wouldn't say he gets bad recruits. I would, however, say he is one of the worst player development coaches that I've ever seen. His offensive and defensive sets are not bad per say, he usually keeps within 10 points in most games and they have a high defensive efficiency, its just that these kids are a bunch of numbskulls. For the most part he recruits sheer athleticism, which doesn't lend to his slow it down pace, he doesn't tell these kids they shouldn't be shooting jumpers when they're 6'7"-6'10". They just play dumb, and that's on the coach in my eyes.

I agree, he always has an incredibly "dumb" team. They freelance way too much for my taste, and I agree that has a lot to do with the type of kids he brings in.
RMU hosts Bryant at 8 PM Thursday night in a game between the two best teams in the NEC. Game will be shown on ESPNU.
The Colonials will probably dress just eight guys for the third straight game, as freshmen Jeremiah Worthem and Britton Lee along with two walk-ons are suspended indefinitely, and Mike McFadden and Desjuan Newton are still away from the team sorting some stuff out.
What was the hype about for this team? Fundamentally unsound. Can't shoot FT's. Upper classmen choke. Defensively porous. Can't win one-on-one match-ups. Dekker extremely overrated.
I'm sorry. Nothing to see here. Another unimpressive Badgers team.
