Bosh and Wade are definitely not leaving Miami.
So they are essentially maneuvering for more cap space......and there is nothing the NBA can/will/cares to do about it?

why would the league respond? If anything, it would be the Union unhappy the players are not getting their max value.

It's what they did 4 years ago so they could play together.

You may see it also with Melo depending on where he goes.

I'd call that collusion against the cap, but that's just me. For the life of me, I can't wrap my head around the NBA.

not sure that's something punishable. I know that as far as collusion involving teams and players under contract to other teams, that's something with a rule on the books. However, players can talk to other players and it's allowed.

for example, he hasn't but if Derrick Rose wanted to, he could speak with Kevin Love about coming to Chicago and there are no rules against it.

All 3 should have birds rights which is why they decided to have the opt out clause after year 3. They can all opt out to create money for Melo and resign even above cap because of birds right which gives team the right to resign a player that has been with them for 3 years.

              This.

And if you're willing to pay the luxury tax you can pretty much resign every player on your team to a max contract if they all have bird rights. There's really no "hard cap" in the NBA like in the NFL. Just a soft cap and a shit ton of taxes once you reach a certain point past the soft cap.

Miami can't sign a FA once the 3 opt out unless its for one of the exceptions. Since they have Bird rights for all 3 guys each one still counts against the cap at 150% or their previous salary. Miami would have to renounce the Bird rights in order to free up room under the cap.

Bosh and Wade would be stupid to opt out. They have their rings, now it is about making money. I don't think either would be able to get this type of contract on the open market, although Bosh might be able to if teams decide to overspend on a big man who has admitted to not wanting to play inside.

I just see LeBron trying to stay in the Eastern Conference, before ultimately deciding his best chance to win is with the Clippers or Rockets.

So they tie up even more of the heat money, make it impossible to bring in new talent and run Lebron out of town? Yes, that sounds like the smart plan.

Sounds very similar to the VSN Chatbox plan.

I think the only teams with a realistic shot are Miami and Houston. I also think that Bosh could be the odd man out. I could see Riley playing hardball with him so he starts looking at other teams.

I doubt he ends up in Houston or Cleveland. Miami or LA would be my guess

It would be pretty funny if he ends up back in Cleveland haha

Apparently Cleveland seeks to think there is a good chance he does... Bit then again I think I have heard that one before.
