Comeback player of the year is usually given to someone coming off an injury.. because people usually don't leave the game for other reasons.

Like if Vince Young played well next year, he'd probably win it.

Tommy Maddox won the award years ago, and he wasn't injured, he was playing in the XFL.

Antonio Bryant will win it this year.

      Calvin Johnson's game-by-game stats:

      ATL - 7 catches, 107 yards (15.3avg), 0 TDs
      GB - 6 catches, 129 yards (21.5avg), 2 TDs
      SF - 4 catches, 40 yards (10.0avg), 0 TDs
      CHI - 2 catches, 16 yards (8.0avg), 0 TDs
      MIN - 4 catches, 85 yards (21.3avg), 1 TD
      HOU - 2 catches, 154 yards (77.0avg), 1 TD
      WAS - 4 catches, 57 yards (14.3avg), 1 TD
      CHI - 8 catches, 94 yards (11.8avg), 1 TD
      JAC - 2 catches, 92 yards (46.0avg), 0 TDs
      CAR - 6 catches, 65 yards (10.8avg), 1 TD
      TB - 3 catches, 66 yards (22.0avg), 1 TD
      TEN - 5 catches, 66 yards (13.2avg), 0 TDs
      MIN - 3 catches, 84 yards (28.0avg), 1 TD

He is currently averaging 18.8 yards every time he touches the ball, and averaged a first down with every catch in all but one game. He also had 8 games with a catch of over 30 yards (and one game with a 29 yard catch). He is 6th in the league in yards, and 2nd in touchdowns, all the while having 8 games with 4 or less catches.

He is on the field with Shaun McDonald and John Standeford (who?), a rookie running back, and had 5 different quarterbacks (an NFL record). He is 6'5", 239 pounds, and ran a sub-4.4 at the combine.

I know Buzzman said he didn't want to say it, but I will: Calvin Johnson is the best receiver in football.

Calvin is legit, I feel you. I rank him in the top 5 or 6, but hes not the top WR on my list.

Defense yes,but receiver no.Derrick Mason is the only legit receiver.Mark Clayton is on and off, they dropped Williams, and Figures is just quick.

I'm done arguing with Detroit fans.In the end Johnson is good but not the best in football.

Brees shouldn't win it if the Saints don't make the playoffs. Has to be Warner?

I don't disagree that he is having an outstanding year, especially with all the injuries the Saints have faced. But if you look at the past, most MVP's are playoff contenders.

The Saints are contenders, they are not out of the race yet.

That's why I said he shouldn't win it IF they don't make the playoffs. If they do, I'll give it to him easily. If not, I give it to Warner.

wow where the hell is the love for Roddy White.. dude has changed his life around COMPLETELY to become a premier receiver in the NFL. He has a rookie quarterback throwing to him, and yet he still leads the league in Rec. Yards.

Read This, and see if something changes. Easily the surprise player of the year.

White was not really a surprise to me coming into the season. He had a pretty good year last year, and i figured that if Ryan was good enough White would have a good year.

Antonio Bryant as comeback player,he's a candidate after making our rookie fs look like a straight bitch.let's see how he finishes the season though.

Dont pull the rookie QB line, Ryan is not playing like no rookie.

Didn't Roddy have 1000 yards last year? He shouldn't have been much of a surprise to anyone...
