I'm a Rockets fan, and I'm going to be objective as possible.
Fisher deserved to get suspended, and Kobe did not. However, I'm 95% sure that Kobe will not get away with the same bullshit again, at least for the next 2 games in the hood. There is no fire like passion

Nope, that's bullshit to suspend Fisher. It's the playoffs, let these guys play. Emotions are high in the playoffs and there's too much on the line for them to be suspending people for running through picks. That's just BS I might as well be watching little league basketball if they're going to treat NBA pros like little kids.
If they start reffing the game the way they did at the end of game 2 I'm not going to be able to bear watching such a pussified version of the sport.
Alston's little slap on the head gets a suspension.
Kobe's elbow to Ron Artest's throat not only doesn't get him ejected (as it states in the rulebook - any elbow that lands above the shoulders is an immediate ejection), but it isn't as bad as Alston slapping the back of House's head?!?
God, I hate Kobe more and more everyday. Fuck the NBA.Last edited by FirstTimer; 05-08-2009, 08:57 AM.Comment

Honestly. For someone that spends so much time commenting on basektball I honestly question if you even watch the games. "running through picks"? Fisher turned his body didn't even attempt to run(why would he Brooks wasn't even taking him off the dribble yet) and threw a forearm at Scola before the pick was even set. Fisher wasn't attempting to do anything but lay out Scola. LOL that Fisher was attempting to "run" through anything.
What saved Kobe's ass IMO was that even though he hit Artest above the shoulders he did it with his back to him. Tough for the NBA to say Kobe should get suspended for hitting Artest in the throat with the elbow when Kobe would have no clue where it would land. Murky territory but they at least issued him a flagrant 1 so anything more and he's toast. They erred on the side of caution here. Can't say I agree 100% with it but also can't say I disagree.RIPComment

Pictures don't mean shit. Post the video. You can clearly see it getting Artest in the throat. Pictures are literally snap shots in time of the incident. It doesn't show where the elbow was before or after the photo. The elbow caught Artest in the throat. No one, not even Kobe dick riders, are even disputing that.Comment

No one cares about your bitterness and your head hunt for Rondo. You're really starting to look worse than DET Clutch....Yes, the Rondo-Hinrich incident was out of line no doubt, but the situations don't have one single similarity. Comparing to the Dwight situation would make much more sense, as it's intentional contact to the head...which is by the rules, not legal. Alston was out of line, Fisher was wayyyy out of line. Fisher received a flagrant 2, which is an automatic suspension anyways. The best part about the Rondo thing, was when it happened...you didn't even really care, your reaction was "well, where was that Flagrant foul yesterday? Get him Hinrich!" and then after people started flipping out about Rondo taking a double barrel shotgun to Hinrich and all his family, then you went off about it.
The first round was last week....it's time to let go.
I see your back to your homer ways.
I'm sure if Hinrich whipped Rondo into the scorers table for no reason you would flip out. I brought it up because the NBA is simply inconsistent. Your telling me Alston's little slap deserves punishment, but Rondo throwing Kirk like that doesnt even deserve a fine? And you say Rondo was trying to get out of the way? Well if he was trying to do that, then he would have got out of the way because Kirk was in front of him. Stop being a homer... Your getting real old in this section.Last edited by zack54attack; 05-08-2009, 12:15 PM.Comment
