of the two players, thabeet certainly makes more sense, but they need a legitimate NBA starting PF, not "size". a starting frontcourt of gasol/thabeet is not possible. i'm not even a gasol fan, but i'm not sure what drafting thabeet accomplishes for them when they'll still have to trot out hakim warrick and darrell arthur at the four. in terms of a PG, i'm not sure if anyone noticed mike conley in the second half last season, but he looked a heck of a lot like a guy that was drafted #4 overall

Grizzlies with Thabeet:

PG - Conley
SG - Mayo
SF - Gay
PF - Gasol/Warrick
C - Thabeet
6th Man - Warrick/Gasol

Or with Rubio..

PG - Conley
SG - Mayo
SF - Gay
PF - Warrick

In regards to Rubio.. Memphis wouldn't be a bad fit because Conley's presence would allow Rubio to grow .. but I still think they need Thabeet.

With an aging PF, a PG who hasn't played a full season in 3 years, a SG who is inconsistent, a "project" center and a decent SF, yes i believe we need a top pick.
