C.J. has Illinois and Iowa on top for now, at least until Tressel shows that he will use the TE (Although I expect him to utilize Stoneburner).

Luc, Linder, Rodgers, Koundijo, and Zwinak are longshots.

I've basically penciled Hagan into this class already, so I was already counting him.

    Tomlinson is an Illinois lean.

Its debatable as to whether Hankins even has an offer, but it may not matter anyway because Virginia is his leader since they are telling him he can start from day 1.

    They stopped recruiting Corey Brown.

Hagerup is a possibility, and I hope he comes here but my gut tells me he's going to Michigan because Basil, Buchanon, and former pro soccer player Devin Barclay are at tOSU and Zoltan is leaving Michigan (This is your cue Kle).

Rodgers is a possibility as well.

All in all though, when it comes down to December and January highly rated, uncommitted recruits from the South will rarely choose a northern team. There's a reason Ohio State loses so many of those battles.

Nah, I don't have a rivals account. Buckeyeplanet FTW

And I sound like a douchebag right now, but eh, what else is new.

        3) Two weeks ago Tomlinson said that he was most comfortable with Illinois, while he was on campus at tOSU.

        4) If Corey Brown is indeed one of their top 5 targets then why did he say that the staff has stopped talking to him? What Mack Brown (The GA RB) said before has led people to believe that Roderick Smith is going to be the only RB in this class.

        5) I'm on my way out the door right now but off the top of my head Joyner, and maybe a few others will last until signing day.

Only Ohio State, Tennessee, Notre Dame, Florida, Penn State, Oklahoma, Florida State and Texas have secured the #1 overall kid. No one has done it twice. Surprising USC hasn't done it. But if Notre Dame or Ohio State land Seantrel Henderson, then that wuld be their second.
          Derrick Williams!

USC never landed the number one kid? That's shocking. They usually just get the number #2, #3, #4 kids instead then.

            1) It was from an article, one in which CJ says that Illinois is his leader.

            2) I know its down to UGA and OSU.

            3) And there's a Rivals article from 6/26 in which Tomlinson says he's most comfortable with Illinois.

            4) In an interview Brown said that he and the staff haven't spoken in a while. Who knows, maybe its changed in the past week and a half when I was on a cruise and out of the country. Hopefully it has, because Corey Brown is a stud...

Regardless, I feel damn good about this class, and even better if Turner can get his shit together. Joyner would be the icing on the cake IMO.

And by killing do you mean (outside of Ayers, who UGA never looked at) picking up all the decent 3 star guys in the state? Oh how the standards have gone down.

UGA is looking pretty darn good right now. Got the #1 safety in the country (Alec Ogletree, Newnan, GA) two weeks ago and perhaps the best lineman in the state of FL in Brent Benedict. Da'Rick Rogers is the #1 or #2 receiver in the state of GA and #6 in the country, so that's huge, and Jalen Fields should help (4* DE). We're also big-time in the hunt for 4* RB Mack Brown and possibly 5* CB LaMarcus Joyner, but he's not looking so good right now.

                    3) I love Smith.. personally I think he's the second best back in this class behind Seastrunk. With Corey Brown I see a Reggie Bush type of back, he has great hands, and elite COD skills and speed, but I don't see a guy who can run it up the middle consistently,

Penn State signs 4-star dual threat QB Robert Bolden today. There's going to be no worries at the QB position for the Nittany Lions in the future, with freshman Kevin Newsome being the probable backup to Daryl Clark this year. 5-star QB Paul Jones from Sto-Rox HS is also committed and Bolden will be the third 4-star or higher quarterback to commit within the last two years. The only concern I see is that they are all dual-threat quarterback and not true pocket passers, but then again the offense failed miserably with Anthony "I'm a Moron"elli under center.

I also read on IGN, I believe, that Jones broke his ankle in pickup basketball this week. Sucks, hopefully we won't drop him from scholarship cause he's still one hell of a player.

Bolden fell in love with PSU and said he didn't mind the competition with Jones, or with Newsome.

Best thing though is how much better the Big 10 is getting... it used to be Ohio State and Michigan dominating the recruiting, with Penn State sticking out occasionally. Now, tOSU and UM are still going strong, and Penn State is as well, with Illinois, Michigan State, and Minnesota getting much improved on the recruiting trail. Wisconsin has always recruited well for their system and the same holds true for Iowa. I'd look for a much stronger Big Ten in the next few years if these recruiting rankings have any say in it.

Things have gone well for Penn State over the past few weeks, with commitments from defensive tackle Evan Hailes of Chesapeake (Va.) Oscar Smith, offensive guard/defensive tackle Daquan Jones of Johnson City (N.Y.) High and wide receiver Levi Norwood of Waco (Texas) Midway, but things could get even better soon.

Barring a surprise, the Nittany Lions are expected to get a commitment Friday from quarterback Robert Bolden, from Orchard Lake (Mich.) St. Mary's. Bolden would be a tremendous addition to the 2010 class and would provide a 1-2 punch at quarterback with Paul Jones of McKees Rocks (Pa.) Sto Rox. Bolden also is considering Oregon and Louisville but hasn't visited either campus.

Another top prospect ready to decide is Manheim (Pa.) Central defensive end Dakota Royer. He has a final five of Penn State, Notre Dame, Michigan State, Pittsburgh and Oregon, but has been a heavy lean to the Nittany Lions for a long time. Now, it seems he's ready to end the process. In fact, there are whispers he already has made his decision and is just waiting to announce it. Penn State seems to be the clear choice.

State College (Pa.) Area wide receiver Alex Kenney has been rumored to be a silent commitment to Penn State for a week now. Most assume he publicly will be a Nittany Lion sooner rather than later.

Annandale (N.J.) North Hunterdon Regional tight end Kevin Haplea is close to a decision, as well. Penn State quietly has emerged as one of the teams to beat along with Pitt, West Virginia, North Carolina and Florida State. Haplea said he is about 70 percent sure of his decision right now, and it wouldn't be unexpected if Penn State was his choice.

Finally, there have been many whispers about Stamford (Conn.) High linebacker Khairi Fortt being close to a commitment to Penn State. Fortt has been visiting numerous schools over the past few weeks, and it appears North Carolina has become the biggest threat to Penn State. But he long has been considered a Nittany Lions lean, and it wouldn't be a stunner if Fortt joined the 2010 Penn State class before the end of the summer.

Fortt is heading to Penn State by himself this weekend to hang with the players and see about college life. If Fortt doesn't commit early, he will take official visits to Penn State, North Carolina and possibly USC. He has upcoming unofficial visits to Georgia and Florida that also could factor into his decision.

If Bolden, Royer, Kenney, Haplea and Fortt jump on board, that would give Penn State 16 commitments, and the top priorities then would be an elite offensive lineman – Arie Kouandjio of Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha Catholic is the likely top target – and two defensive ends; Dominique Easley of Staten Island (N.Y.) Curtis is one top target. If all goes according to plan, Penn State could end up with the top recruiting class in the Big Ten.
Nice find Hokie. Like I said, this Penn State class is shaping up to be one of the bests in school history.
