I wanted to kill him over that lousy performance against the Eagles. I don't begrudge anyone for getting as much as they can, but the Giants overpaid. Eli has to prove he can get it done without his security blanket.

Why? Throughout the history of the NFL, very few qbs have "gotten it done" without at least one top notch receiver and those that did had a top notch defense.

precentage break down of how eli got this cash...

            10% skill
15% throwing it to a tall wr
15% having a bad ass running game
10% being on the team that stop the pats from going 19-0
50% having the last name manning

eli is no where near as good as this contract makes him look. what kills me is all the people saying romo is better than eli though. there is alot to be said for being a winner, even if it wasnt all you.

They've already got a spot set up for him at the 50-yard line at the NEW Jersey/A stadium.

Next will Phillip Rivers when he will be demanding over a $100 mil contract
That's the way it works. You make your franchise qb happy (whether or not we think he's worthy of such status, the Giants do). When other qbs come up for contracts some of them will certainly be saying if Eli got "x" amount of dollars, I should get more. And within a year or two, there will be several qbs making more money.
