NFC East Position Rankings: Running Back

lol im sorry but this post reeks of fanboysism @ westbrook and portis being 4th and 3rd the duo @ NY was the best until fire left now their game takes a hit as we would have to see how jones does carrying more of the role with bradshaw trying to replicate what ward did last year

and marion barber and felix jones while they are good are not the elite in the east even with tashard the passing game takes a hit this year and the main focus will now be on witten and the running game until someone on the cowboys wr unit can prove they are actually a #1(roy williams)

    imo

    portis
jacobs, bradshaw, giants Line*imo one of the best if not the best in the nfl right now
    westbrook underutilized
    barber,felix,choice

ROFL @ Skins being last. Skins are #2 in the east behind the giants, and that is only because of the OL.

Clinton Portis ran for 1,400 yards last year. Even when he is injured, Ladell Betts is more than capable of taking over. In fact, in 2006, betts ran for 1,000 yards in just 9 games. Teams have tried to pry him away from the skins.

Here's a few numbers for you from 2008.

      Cowboys total rushing: 1,743

      Clinton Portis Rushing: 1,487

Lol @ thinking the cowboys have better RBs than the redskins.

Edit: And don't give me bullshit about injuries. Redskins face injuries just like every other team in the league.

Edit 2: Just because I can't stop, I looked at the stats for Cowboys RBs. Not a single back has yet to break 1,000 yards on a season. Pathetic.

The Cowboys have 3 really good HB that can come in and start. Barber is a beast when healthy and Jones was averaging 9 yrds a carry before he went down. Choice came in and really good days against 3 strong run D's.

Not 1 of their RB's have topped a 1,000 yard season EVER. To say they are better than the redskins is bullshit.

          The numbers do not lie

LOL, when I first glanced at the article I thought they were going from best to worst, not worst to best. How could the Cowboys possibly have the best RBs in the NFC East? The Giants had two more 1000-yard rushers than the Cowboys, and Portis almost gained more yards than Barber/Jones/Choice combined!

Here's some stats on comparing Clinton Portis to Marion Barber from just last season alone when Barber finally became the full time starter.

              Marion Barber

              15 Games | 13 Games Started | 235 Attempts | 885 Yards | 7 TD | 3.5 Yard Avg | 7 Fumbles

              Clinton Portis

              16 Games | 16 Games Started | 342 Attempts | 1,487 Yards | 9 TD | 4.3 Yard Average | 3 Fumbles

The last time Clinton Portis played only 13 games was back in 2003. You know what he did? He rushed for 1,315 yards. Not a meager 885. Hell, Ladell Betts started 9 games in 06 and STILL rushed for over 1,000 yards. Marion Barber would be 3rd string on the redskins.

This is how the east looks IMO:

1.Giants (Only because of their OL)
              2.Redskins

              Distant 3. Cowboys
              4.Eagles

The Redskins/Giants are miles above the cowboys/eagles in terms of rushing.

Yet none of the 3 have shown anything indicating that they can start in the NFL.

brian westbrook is the best singular running back in the division, but as for running back corps. third is probably right for philly.

Really, is that really you're list.

Portis and Westbrook somehow are always underrated and Brandon Jacobs is the best power back in the NFL and can arguably be put into the list for being on of the top 5 backs in the NFL.

Portis and Betts have been together for years and are one of the best tandems in the NFL.

Westbrook is a do it all back and Mccoy is a great capable back up for him.

Barber did not show up last year, and Jones was injured so its possible that he lost a step. Choice is eh.

                    1. Giants/Redskins
                    2. Redskins/Giants
                    3. Eagles
                    4. Cowboys

                          1. Giants
                          2. Redskins
                          3. Eagles
                          4. Cowboys

The list, as aforementioned, stinks of homerism. Cowboys #1? Right...

You can't seriously believe the cowboys have the best rushing offense in the east. their the only team to not have a single RB reach 1,000 yards EVER
