Antrel Rolle has a big mouth. It looks like its gonna be a problem in the future.

Kenny Phillips, you make the tackle on Celek and maybe were still playing. You had a very subpar year and I'll give you a pass cause of the injury, but next year better be different.

Grant, Tuck, Ross and others also missed potential game icing tackles in that game.

Yup. IMO Phillips was the bigger tackle to miss (all we had to do was string out that drive), but Grant's was the worst tackle.

KP was considered the 8th best safety this year by some website.

It's being reported that Justin Tuck will 'talk' with Rolle about his Coughlin comments.

KP is already distancing himself from saying anything bad about Coughlin. lol

Steelers receiver Hines Ward, who played alongside Plaxico Burress for five seasons in Pittsburgh, said he would welcome his former teammate back to the team "with open arms" according to Jenny Vrentas of the Newark Star Ledger. The ex-Steelers and Giants receiver is due to be released from prison on his illegal gun possession conviction this summer, and is expected to attempt a comeback.
"How great would that be?" Ward said at Super Bowl XLV Media Day today. "For Plax to come back with the Steelers and help us win another Super Bowl, that would be a great story."

Asked if he would go to the Steelers organization and ask them to take a shot on Burress, he said that's not his nature.

"I'm not going to do that, because I’m not that type of guy," Ward said. "Who am I to tell the owner or organization what to go do? If that presented itself and the Pittsburgh Steelers did bring Plaxico back, I'd give him a big hug, and we’d be right out there playing together."

Context for any non-Giant fans viewing this portion of the thread....

The NY Giants started the 2007 season 0-2 and down 17-3 at the start of the second half of their third game, against the Redskins. The defense, coached by Steve Spagnuolo was being criticized for being swiss cheese (they gave up more than 70 points the previous two week). They came back and won the game courtesy of a goal line stand. They won their next 5 games to hit their bye week at 6-2. They went 3-3 in their next six games, needing at least one win in their final two games to get in. Down early in Buffalo, they fought back (thanks in large part to a HUGE Kawika Mitchell INT return) and won 38-21 to clinch a wild card spot.

In week 17, with nothing but pride to play for against the undefeated 15-0 New England Patriots, Tom Coughlin decided he would NOT pull his starters. Although it's known now that the defense played a vanilla game, the Giants nearly pulled off the upset but fell short, 38-35 and finished the season 10-6. The Pats went 16-0.

This Giants team had something special about them. Offensive "leader" Tiki Barber retired in the previous off-season, and Brandon Jacobs became the #1 back. Franchise legend Amani Toomer recovered from injuries to return and played well opposite of Plaxico Burress.

They key to the late portion of the season was the ROOKIE CLASS. Jeremy Shockey and Mathias Kiwanuka were injured at various points of the season and were put on IR. In total, of the 14 rookies who played at least one game for them, EIGHT of them provided real contributions that helped the team win in the playoffs (Aaron Ross, Michael Johnson, Jay Alford, Zak DeOssie, Ahmad Bradshaw, Kevin Boss, Steve Smith and Domenik Hixon).

Nobody gave the Giants much of a chance on the road in the post-season. They played Jeff Garcia's Bucs in the first round and won 24-14. They went to Dallas (where they went 0-2 in the regular season) and won 21-17. Then they went to Green Bay in what turned out to be Favre's last game there. In freezing temps, the Giants outplayed the Packers as Plax dominated Al Harris and despite missing multiple field goals to win in regulation, after a Corey Webster interception of Favre, Lawrence Tyunes kicked a GAME WINNING 47-YARDER!

As for the Patriots, they dominated the Jaguars and Chargers to get to the Super Bowl with their record setting offense. Not only did they have the best offense in the league, they had the 4th best defense (allowing 17 points a game). Remember, Welker had 112 catches, 1175 yards, 7 TDs....Moss had 98 catches, 1493 yards, 23 TDs (unfuckingreal).

On defense the Pats were led by the likes of Tedy Bruschi, Mike Vrabel, Junior Seau, Asante Samuel, Vince Wilfork, Rodney Harrison and others.

Clearly, the 18-0 Patriots could dominate the wild card Giants who had to fight and claw their way to the big game...right?

Running back Ahmad Bradshaw doesn't know if he'll be back in New York next year, but the Giants say they want to keep him.
