There is something that I don't get at all...

    Such a fucking stupid oversimplification.

Donte Stallworth wasn't involved in an illegal sport that is a felony across the nation.

Donte Stallworth didn't oversee a large illegal gambling venture.

Donte Stallworth didn't lie about his involvement in said illegal gambling venture to the gov't and his employers.

Donte Stallworth didn't have friends turn their back on him and volunteered to give up all the info on said illegal gambling venture.

Donte Stallworth didn't fail a drug test when he was indicted.

That is why he got two years. Not just because of the dogs. Now:

Supposedly the guy sort of popped out into the middle of the road (i think there was a witness in another car not just saying "Stallworth said it.") and was actually the guy in the wrong for doing it. Stallworth just happened to be driving tipsy, but it wasn't truly his fault.

Not to mention the family themselves seemed to acknowledge this and were happy to take a quick settlement on the issue.

The dogs definitely had an impact on it.. sad or not, society is quicker to forgive you for manslaughter than dogslaughter.

If Vick had been driving drunk and ran over a dog, he wouldn't have gotten 30 days, and probably wouldn't have done any time at all.

Meanwhile, if Stallworth was running an illegal underground fight club, and was murdering the losing combatants, i'm quite positive he'd get more than 2 years.

So no, the justice system does not value the lives of dogs more than humans.

I don't disagree that the fact they were dogs had an impact on the sentence, but I think the things I listed made the difference between a six month sentence and two years. Trying to make it seem like Vick was punished solely for abusing dogs is shortsighted.

It's called the Florida Judicial System and loop holes.

He got 30 days because of a fucking loop hole.

For the stallworth case they had video of Mr. Reyes going infront of Stallworths car trying to get to the other side. So it wasn't really stallworths fault.

Because Stallworth is paying a shitload to the family. Things aren't always as simple as they seem.

I believe they found that the man Stallworth hit was jay walking, which under Florida law, clears the drunk driver from all wrong doing.

^lol. Accept for the fact that he still went to jail. Which I'm not arguing against, I just think your statement was funny.

Anyway, I meant to tell the OP earlier that this was a bad idae. People already have their mind made up on this, the courts already have their mind made up on this, plus it's in the past. I don't think it's just, either, but they're both out of prison and Vick's not bitching about it, so maybe we shouldn't either...

Also, is anyone really impressed with Stallworth these days? At all? I mean, he's an average player at best. Cooperating with authorities doens't make him a good player, though I'm glad he didn't have to go to jail for long... (Actually, ignore that if you want... It's just sort of funny to me that Stallworth is making headlines.)

But at the end of the day, Stallworth was still responsible for killing a human being and Vick dogs.
