Knowing the injury situation Green Bay is in, this would be an asinine move of them to do right now. Clay Matthews might not be ready for the regular season due to an injury, and there's no guarantee that he'll be a good player, and some of their other linebackers are also banged up... Thompson, don't do this. Finally back after a 3 year hiatus! -
AJ Hawk in college was the best linebacker this decade... period. He's up there in the top 3 all-time at Ohio State IMO.
He was a great blitzer and an excellent run-stuffer.. he was a bit of a liability in pass coverage but he has the athleticism to keep up.Comment

Bills could use another LB. Ellison is kinda meh but then again they run more 4-3 iirc.Comment

yeah not to mention I doubt the bills would be able to offer anything.Comment

I don't know if Hawk was better than Spiels... but I know he's in that top-tier no doubt.Comment

That being said, it is very hard not to put Laurinitis in the top 3. He was a tackling machine and played everything pretty solidly. It might be because he was the most recent great LB for OSU, but I'm torn over whether or not to include him.Comment

I'd put him at a tie with Katz. Andy was fantastic against the run, but was nothing special against the pass. I think Hawk was a little more balanced all around, although not as good against the run, but was a much better leader than Katz. Overall, it is pretty close, IMO.
