What If Scenario #1

The Rams limp into the post-season instead of having the first round bye, lose to the Redskins in the first round, and Tampa Bay is the eventual Superbowl Champion. Tony Dungy is a hero, and stays in Tampa for years to come.
Gruden never comes to Tampa, Dungy never goes to Indy. Kurt Warner is never given an opportunity to play in the NFL, and is forced out of the league. Peyton Manning is still widely considered a choke-artist, because he is never given a defense good enough to help him get over the hump.
Nnamdi Asomougha, one of the players selected by Oakland in the trade with Jon Gruden, is never a Raider, and gets taken in the second round a few picks later by the New England Patriots, who desperately needed a cornerback at the time. Without Napoleon Harris, another pick by Oakland in the Gruden trade, the Raiders are unable to seal the deal with Minnesota in acquiring wide receiver Randy Moss. He remains a Viking.
In 2005, instead of signing the no-name Kurt Warner to a deal, Arizona picks up their franchise quarterback by way of the draft; Aaron Rodgers. Green Bay drafts their franchise quarterback too a few picks later; Jason Campbell.
In 2006, the Minnesota Vikings, in need of a new quarterback, trade up to Arizona's spot at number 10 and pick up the future of their organization - Jay Cutler. Matt Leinart slips all the way to number 20 and goes to Kansas City.
With Jay Cutler, Adrian Peterson and Randy Moss, Minnesota is the dynasty of the mid-to-late 2000's decade. The New England Patriots still remain successful, especially with shut-down corner Nnamdi Asomougha, but fail to win 3 Superbowls in 4 seasons.. since Oakland remains a powerhouse in the AFC led by Jon Gruden in the mid 2000's. Peyton Manning is still without his ring, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers win the Superbowl multiple times from 1999 to 2006.
How's that for a crazy scenario!Comment
