    Good move.

I'm still pissed the Rams passed on him.

If the Jets play it right, it could be another Flacco situation.

A lot of things have to fall right, though.

Still think Sanchez is a much better QB than Stafford and will be a star in the league. Good move for New York.

          typical Fins garbage

Clemens has been in this system for years and looks the same as if when he came out of college. Sanchez has a certain thing about him...he has better accuracy and isn't mr. checkdown like Clemens is.

Only thing IMO that won't make this like Flacco is that JF had better targets. Mason is a great possession WR to have...Cotchery is solid but he's not on Mason's level. One hopes that Keller can continue his progression and become a dangerous threat. Then have anyone of the WR corp of Clowney, Stuckey, Smith, Henry, B.Davis to do SOMETHING to step up and become a #2 WR.

            Care to explain why?

I don't see what he's lacking. He has everything needed to become a great QB. Smart, tough, accurate, etc. He seems to have all the intangibles also.

Nobody thought the Falcons or Ravens would compete last season, either. You never know. The Jets have a decent offense and the defense will likely improve with Ryan being the coach. I see them surprising some people and finishing 2nd in the AFC East.

lol @ those saying this is a bad idea.

You don't move up to take your future franchise QB.. give him a huge deal.. etc etc only to have him sit behind Kellen Clemens

It was obvious he was the starter from day one. They probably just made it seem like he had to earn it to keep his ego grounded.

Yeah the Jets really don't have a seasoned veteran to go out there. Its two young guys, they just drafted Sanchez with the 5th pick, obviously they'll start him. With the Lions, we've got Culpepper and aren't really a contending team. We can afford to have what could be our best quarterback sit and learn for awhile.

As far as Sanchez being better than Stafford, I really don't know. I think both could end up being good players in the league just as easily as they could be backups or trying for a second chance on low tier teams.

I can't help but think about how good USC would have been had Sanchez played. UF Vs. USC NC game....drool.

NFL defenses will have an easy time stopping the Jets offense this season. Jerricho Cotchery the number 1 receiver with David Clowney being the number 2? Recipe for disaster when you have two receivers who will have an extremely difficult time getting seperation with a rookie quarterback starting. Teams will stack the box and be able to shut the offense down and Sanchez is no Flacco.

Jets start off 0-4 and when Calvin Pace comes back who is their only legit pass rusher then they will start being more of a threat.

I can definitely see Sanchez becoming a good quarterback, but it's really dependent on who the Jets put around him. This year they won't be doing anything special unless some people step up, but in the coming years they can become a decent team.

The Houston offense will be too much.

Sanchez is IMO more talented than Flacco. Doesn't mean he'll be as good this year obviously, I just see him as the better QB.

Again, nobody thought the Ravens or Falcons would do anything either. I'm not saying they're going to make it to the playoffs or even finish above .500 ... just that I think they'll be better than people expect.
