After the Tampa Bay loss in 2002 and the horrible start he had in 2003 was when you had McNabb detractors, usually accompanied by Reid detractors as well, becoming more prevelant in the city. However, he doesn't take any more shit from this city than Eli Manning took in New York (pre Superbowl). I'm a McNabb fan and I still hold out hope that he'll pull out a Super Bowl for us, but his national perception and perceived failures on the field is 100% on him, not the fans or the media here.
So the fuck what? Eli was garbage. McNabb is and has been a quality player. And let's not play like Philly's been the nicest to McNabb. But take that as you will, they're tough on anybody.

In any case, I don't really understand why he would have a problem with Vick, but I don't care. As long as they win games, I guess...

mcnabb was right. putting vick in was throwing off the quote on quote "rythm". if u watched the game u would kno that. u cant just throw vick in and out of the game as u please and expect the timing to stay the same when mcnabb comes back in to throw a pass. this aint madden this is real life. i want my eagles to just use vick in the red zone. thats where we struggled and thats where vick could really help us. what team has ever just put in different qbs at any old random times during games and alternated em? that just doesnt work or make much sense.

I agree. The whole subbing Vick in and out thing seemed really random and forced. Like there was no gameplan and Reid was just flipping a coin on whether or not to sub Vick in every play. They're gonna have to get a lot better at utilizing Vick, if they keep doing what they did last game the offense isn't gonna have any flow.

I have been saying this since the beginning. McNabb is worst than Owens was or ever will be. McNabb is Brett Favre Jr. He trys to use the media against in favor of himself.

i'm with donovan on this one. the offense wasnt in rhythm because vick was just being subbed in randomly, just to try things out.

i understand i am an eagles fan, but that doesnt have anything to do with siding with donovan, because the dude does get a lot of hate around here. everytime he overthrows someone you can here half the room going "let's get kolb warmed up."

Donovan McNabb is more likely to get hurt than any other quarterback in the history of the NFL, and he doesn't even do the same things he used to do that put wear and tear on his body. I personally think that if McNabb gets injured this season or next, and no Superbowl win comes in that time, that his days as the Eagles QB are done.

IMO, it's Philly fans who need to chill the fuck out(not you, Flight). They won't appreciate Donovan until he's gone, and Kolb is calling signals. Okay, so the dude will never be Tom Brady, but you've had winning seasons with him, and you went to a SB.

But I'd expect nothing less from the Philly faithful - they even booed Dr. J.

Your point would probably hold more water if you said will booed Mike Schmidt, which actually happened a lot. I don't remember a lot of boos for Dr J.

Whether it's fair or not, McNabb will never be given a pass in this town until he wins a Super Bowl. If the team did what it was supposed to do, which was beat Tampa Bay in the 2003 NFC championship game then stomped the Raiders, we wouldn't be having this conversation. But the dissapointment of that season has fallen on the shoulders of both Reid and McNabb, and the fall out of that game is still felt today. When things don't go as well as the press and the fans think it should, the blame goes to the QB and/or head coach. I don't care what city you're in.
