While LT is the more complete back, the fact remains that Peterson is the best runner in the league by a fair margin.

I don't really blame LT, even though he is wrong.

Football is a competitive sport. I'm sure LT knows where he is in the world of running backs today, but if someone asks him if he's the best, he should be saying yes. As a running back, especially a high-caliber one, you should hold that mindset each season and look to defend that position every year.

And I don't want to pull out the "He's a respectable guy" card because I don't know him personally, but I'm sure he was at least a little bit sarcastic when answering this question. I don't think he would out right say that knowing it'd cause a mini-controversy.

It would be worse to have him say "I'm not the best, I fell off, I bet Sproles will take my job this year." So I have no problem with him thinking he is on top of the game at his position.

According to PTI they asked LT if AP was the best back in the league right now and LT said he himself was . He said AP comes out on alot of 3rd downs and still has suspect hands . While he is the best dowhill runner he still has alot to work on was basicly the jist of LT's words . Or so that's what they reported

AD doesn't have to rush for more yards than LT over his career to be a better back right now. That's like saying Mark Brunell is a better QB right now than Matt Ryan.
