Stafford will never succeed with the Lions, and by the time he gets out of Detroit, he'll be too mentally damaged to catch on anywhere else. I've been saying this since we drafted him and passed up on o-line help. Our receivers outside of Calvin aren't good enough to go get balls that might be mistake throws, our defense isn't going to hold any offense down enough to where we can get a running game going to take pressure off, and the running game, even when we do run it, is behind such a terrible offensive line that the defenses don't even worry about it.
Except in Carr's first season he didn't have a stud WR. Andre was drafted the following year in 03 I believe. And even in his rookie year, although it was good, he wasn't a stud. So at least with WR, the situation is different.

I still think Stafford will turn out alright. It is way to early to judge Stafford. It was first game. If he is still playing this way after 5 or 6 games, I'll be calling for his head with you, but until then, lay off.

I agree with this post completely. The earliest I thought Stafford should've played was mid-season. His first game should have been against a weak team, like the Rams or Bengals or something. That way, he plays solid, gets a little confidence going. Oh well, we'll have to deal with what we've done.

Delmas is definitely the only somewhat bright spot in the secondary. He played very well for his first game against such a great offense. He was all over the field making tackles, like I said earlier he only missed one tackle all day. I'm definitely expecting big things from him in the future.

I commend your courage. You sir have moved up a notch in my book. On a game note I wish Reggie Bush didnt suck so bad. Sharper played well but he is like a 11 year vet going against a rookie so that type of thing should happen. What was really good is how the saints held the lions to 33 rush yards. I only got the watch the first quarter and when i read that on NFL.com I was actually amazed. Hopefully the D plays consistent the offense picked up right where they left off. Here is to 1-0.
