Has Matt Ryan Been "Crowned" Too Early?

I know that most people have fallen in love with Matt Ryan and he looks to be very promising. ESPN has blown him up, people think that he will be the next elite QB in the NFL. He probably will be too.

But, have we done it a bit too early considering that Joe Flacco kid is still hanging around? To be honest, I think Flacco is a better QB than Ryan and I was definitely more impressed with him last year than I was with Ryan. And after watching both games today, I'm even more impressed with Flacco, who had the better performance.

So, just to get everyone's general opinion, has Ryan been crowned too early as elite without really giving any "respect" or "props" to Flacco?

Matt Ryan took a team most of us thought would be in rebuilding mode for at least 3 years, to a playoff spot.

He pretty much started where he left off.

I won't put him on my top 10, until I see two full seasons, though.

But it's looking pretty good for Matt Ryan.

If so, then it's correct. No one has said Ryan is a top five QB or anything.

Ryan's more of a prototypical QB, whereas Flacco seems to have more physical tools. He really impressed me against the Bengals last year. He's got some mobility, but let's see if he has the actual skill. Ryan's got the skill more than the talent, if that makes any sense.

And he's got a better offense, threw for only 16 TDs last year. But, whatever. . . His team respects him enough to elect him captain in his second year. There's got to be something to him.

I see where you're going with this. A lot of analysts/fans think Matt Ryan is surely one of the best QBs in the league. I believe without Mike Turner, Matt Ryan wouldn't be as far as long as he is right now.

After today I am a believer. I still don't think he's a Top 5 QB but I don't think anyone can argue he's on his way. Matt Ryan is a better QB then Joe Flacco will ever be.

This is more what I'm getting at. A lot of people have Ryan hyped up to be the next Peyton/Brady and to be an elite QB. I understand, the Falcons went from shit to playoffs. However, I'm just far more impressed with Flacco. I don't understand why Matt Ryan is so blown up (not that I'm saying he is undeserving) and Flacco isn't given as much love and is considered a "manager".

The real question is, where the hell have you been Deviant?
