Are the likes of Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, and Drew Brees to be thought less of because of the level of competition today is so much "weaker" than it used to be?
Get the fuck out if you're gonna waste your time here old hoagie. The level of competition has never been at the scale it's at now; Team Play is evident every Sunday when I flip on CBS, and if you weren't so worried about coming up with material to criticize while you're sitting on the couch on Sunday, you would realize that.
You're wasting our time, and more importantly, you're wasting your time.Comment

What the fuck is there to overthink? He's either a good player, or he's not. All signs point to yes; he hasn't been spectacular at the end of the day, but he's been a manager, and its led to 3 Jets victories.

Quit it with the one liners, your act is getting old [no pun intended]
A Game Manager who is perhaps 35 shouldn't be a starter. This kid is fresh out of school, and 3 games into his first football season? You really gonna make a call right now about whether or not he'll pan out? Hell, all signs point to him having a 19-0 record this year as a starter.
3-0, especially in a league like this today, is impressive. It's even more impressive to go 3-0 with a rookie quarterback.
You're opinion stays the same, but your idiotic side continually finds ways to make you look like even more of a fool than before. I don't understand what you're trying to prove here, but the only one you're impressing is the one sitting at home in his computer chair with a beer in his boxers.Comment

By the way, http://www.pro-football-reference.co...J/JackHa00.htm
Harold Jackson was mediocre. No where near the best ever.
I will agree with you Rex Grossman had no business being in a Super Bowl, but neither did Trent Dilfer. Defense got those teams there. I don't think you can find anyone to argue that Rex Grossman was a great QB.Comment

The level of play is easier now? Anyone playing now has been in an NFL full of parity, so all the players now are weaker? Manning and Brady aren't going to be looked at as some of the best QB because the competition is weaker now? You're alone in that boat, because not even some incompetent sportscaster would agree with you.

I never said level of players is weaker. I said no cohesive units translate to not a high qualiity of execution. So, youll get rookie QBs doing better than they would be in a more competative league. Parity means weakness all the way around, not strength.
manning and brady are great QBs but their stats are bloated due to weaker competion and rules that favor the passing game.Comment

its only impressive if one rookie QB does that well in a few seasons. Not 3 rookies in the last 2 years. that many rookie QBs should not be doing that well that often.Comment

The league is stronger than it ever was , it's just the talent is more spread out than ever now . You can't keep the same team every year like you could back in the day so the same powerhouses aren't dominating and keeping all the talent . The league has never had better , faster and/or smarter players than it has now . And that was a quote from Rod Woodson , not me .
You are like 80 year old man who is living in his old ways .... just because rookies have never done this well in the past does not mean that's how it HAS to be .Comment

Why not? where is the book of rules saying they can't? maybe three special qbs have came along and that's just how it is? As far as you and I know , we could be looking at the next Joe Montana , Peyton Manning and Dan Marino ten years down the line .

joe cool, johnny U, dan marino... all succeeded as rookies. the rookie who goes to a bad team fails, IE david carr, troy aikman (dallas was rebuilding), elway. good teams provide support and since free agency makes it so a team can gather talent they can build a team and then get a qb, just like the ravens, and jets did. the falcons got a bit lucky, but matty ice is kinda nice.
