You know things have gotten bad for the Rams when...

...fans are bummed out by todays news that WR Laurent Robinson is likely out for the year. Who?

To be honest, Robinson looked great and was primed to have a breakout season that nobody would notice as the Rams win zero games.

The other development that shows how low things have gotten, is fans are claimoring for Kyle Bollerto take over the starting job, based on two TD passes in the first half after Bulger went down. I guess nobody saw the second half, where Boller was back to his old shitty self.

Boller wins by default, because Bulger is done for at least two weeks. Bottom line, is nobody is succeeding at QB in this offense, with a pourous o-line and the worst group of WR's in the history of the NFL.

Instead of arguing over which QB should be thrown to slaughter, and opining on what shitty WR's Spags will or won't sign (who needs WR's, when you have 13 defensive linemen?), Rams fans should be foucusing on the real problem, which is the god awful roster assembled by Spags & Bill Devaney.

Here are the only Rams that would start on a good NFL team:

    RB Steven Jackson
    S OJ Atogwe
S James Butler (out for two weeks!)
    CB Ron Bartell
    C Jason Brown
    LB Will Witherspoon
    LB James Laurinitas
    P Donnie Jones
    K Josh Browno
That's it. 8 players, two of which are kickers.

Fans should be putting heat on Spags to blitz more than, I don't know, zero times per game. Fans should be putting heat on Spags to order the overmatched offensive (double meaning) coordinator Pat Shurmer to open up his vanilla, 1970 playbook. Fans should be all over Spags for failing to clean up the sloppy, unfocused, penalty filled, unorginized play that hasnt been fixed from the Linehan era.

Browns fans (and media) are running Mangenious out of town after 3 games, and justifiably so. Rams fans should follow suit. I warned people this was the wrong hire. Spags must go, no point wasting two or three years on this guy. He's lost.

Someone needs to rescue Steven Jackson and AJ Otagwe (aka as good a safety as anyone, but unknown because of how shitty the Rams are)

I think Spags will turn it around.. but Linehan sure left a mess behind.

also vobora has been playing pretty good little bit of pep in his game.

Maybe the Rams can get Marvin Harrison, it sounds like St. Louis is the only place he could start. I'm sure it wouldn't happen though, they would rather get their young guys some game time instead of some old WR who kills people.

In all seriousness, this team will never be good while Steven Jackson is an elite player. They should see if they can get a 1st rounder (or two) for him.

Of course, the only other healthy RB on the roster is Kenneth Darby. Spags would probably sign another defensive lineman.

This is what kills me about Rams fans. Bulger is not, and never was, the problem. You can't complete passes from your back.

Everyone knows what Bulger accomplished from 2002-2006. Keep him upright, give him weapons, and he takes you to the playoffs and goes to Pro Bowls.

Bulger was having a very efficient season when he went down. 0 INT's. He was playing within the shitty vanilla system. I don;t know what fans want out of a guy with no WR's, in an offense that never throws the ball further than 10 yards, all while getting smacked in the mouth every snap.

              Lets be completely 100% honest.

              Seriously.

Does everyone not just dislike the guy because his name sucks and he looks like a dickhead?

He could be the Patriots starting quarterback and I'd still hate him.

In any event, this injury improves your chances of another high draft pick which you can use to build an O-Line.

Rams fans want to take a QB, which to me is a mistake, because taking a QB that high requires paying them a billion dollars, and if they bust (which is always a strong possibility with taking a QB) it sets back your franchise even further (see: Oakland).

Rams need football players, not a QB. OL, LB, WR, RB, whoever the best football player is.

Boller definitely isn't some kind of savior, but Bulger is done. I appreciate what Bulger did between 2002-06, but he's horrible in 2009. When Boller, a below average QB, entered the game yesterday the Rams looked like a completely different team.

The Rams are by far the most untalented team in the league, but I'm not sure how that is Spag/Devany's fault. Look at the Rams drafts under Martz/Linehan/Zygmund since 2001.... it's horrible. The Rams went from the 3rd oldest team in the league to the 3rd youngest. They are doing what they need to do and are starting from scratch.

Spags was handed a horrible horrible football team. Give the guy a few years before we have to start hearing about how many Superbowls the Rams would have won if Martz was still the coach in st. louis.

I do agree that the Rams will never be a good football team while Jackson is elite. Jackson deserves to play for a contender, so I wouldn't mind seeing them trade him to another team.

Timing is important, no?. Now is not the time for the Rams to bring in their franchise QB.

Why not let Bulger play things out for a year or two while strengthening whatever areas of your team that you can...and then bring in the next franchise QB?

Bringing a QB into a team with a "pourous o-line and the worst group of WR's in the history of the NFL" wouldn't be an ideal situation, would it?

They turned over the roster. It's their team.

Tony Sporano & Mike Smith were handed teams just as bad. Both of those teams "tore it apart" and started over. To me, that's just an excuse, especially when the currenty regime has somehow managed to make the roster even worse.

John Shaw and Jay Zygmundt are gone. That means the answer is simple. One man can save the Rams.

It's time to bring the swagger back to the dome.

Martz having Warner in his prime, Faulk in his prime, Holt before his knees went to hell, Bruce with some mileage left on his tires, Orlando Pace healthy and dominant >>>>>>>>> Kyle Boller, Steven Jackson and Donnie Avery.

Sorry.. not even your Jesus could turn around this franchise.

Spags will change the team, but he inherited a shithole. What he should really do is cut Richie Incognito (who might have more penalty yards alone than points scored for you guys) and just start chipping away at rebuilding everything.

Right... the man that can't even keep a job as a coordinator should be a head coach.

                              That was the Vermeil team.

Martz was still taking this team to the playoffs in 03/04 with a washed up Faulk, Warner long gone, Pace holding out and getting hurt every year, etc. He tutored Bulger, drafted Jackson, Kevin Curtis, Alex Barron, etc, hired Lovie Smith, and transitioned the team from that era. All while Shaw & Zygmundt tried their best to fight with him and break apart the team. Then they fired him while he laid in a hospital bed.

More importantly, the team had an identity, a swagger, and was always in the hunt.

Rams are 5-30 in thier last 35 games, and 13-38 since Martz left. It would have never gotten this bad if Georgia shit canned Shaw & Zygmunt sooner, and Martz would have won the power play.
