Eli might not play but Smith usually works the slot so he wouldn't be up against Nnamdi.

If Eli does play, expect Smith to have a huge day because he primarily works the middle of the field and Oakland's LBs and Safeties are pretty weak in coverage.

The Giants get the nod for surrounding Eli with enough young talent to make the departure of Plaxico a non factor. They still could have used him in the playoffs last season. The year before that, if they hadn't had Plaxico there is no way the Giants would have beaten the Cowboys and Packers on the road in back to back games on the way to the Superbowl.

^^^cosign to the fullest... Plex's game against the Packers was the best game I can remember a Giant WR having.. He was unbelievable, if you have the tape watch it again.. Wow just thinking about the Giants superbowl run is getting me pumped, every game besides the Bucs was a phenomenol game.. Going into big D after going 0-2 against them during the season and then Green Bay 0 degrees in a game we dominated and almost lost.. geez im getting goosebumps

^^^It is impossible to put these numbers up in our stadium during nov/dec.. Every QB says that the swirling winds affect the quarterback so much in NJ...

Phil Simms would have easily been a HOFer if he wasn't a Giant.

agreed. people may think that the wind in the meadowlands is overblown but once your there field level at giants stadium in december with 20+mph winds you quickly understand it is not, even if theres just a slight wind outside it gets magnified times 100 with the open tunnel in the one endzone. worst game i ever went to was two years ago against the redskins. had tickets in the tunnel endzone, probably about 20 rows up from the field. it was a sunday night game and it was a good 30 degrees outside but the wind was upwards of 40 mph. when a team was down by the tunnel you could literally watch the ball get pushed 10 yards to the left or right due to the wind when someone threw a pass.

Eli is a top 5 QB, just hasn't got the credit he deserves because of his good D and ground game.

Eli has always been a great QB in weeks 1-8. He usually falls off around midseason. Until we see otherwise I'm keeping him a notch below the top 5.

^^I'm satisfied with a 6-10 quarterback in the league.. I would say that's a solid area to place him in.

However, if there's 2 minutes left and I need a game-winning drive, I think I would take Elijah over anyone else in the league.

Erm, no....I'd take Big Bro, Roethlisberger or Brady in a tight game before I even thought of Eli's name. I don't dislike Eli, I'm just being realistic.

That's fine it's your opinion.. But for me, I can't remember the last time Eli failed in that situation.

That was an incredible run. People want to hang the loss on Favre for the OT pick but if the Giants kicker could have converted one of his attempts in the 4th quarter, the real story of the game was that Plax had a career day against 2 of the best CB's in the league on the road in subzero temperatures. Eli had to make the throws but Plax was making sick catches all day long.
